Community Human

We’re looking for the fourth human to join our close-knit, generally happy, hard-working and try-to-look-after-eachother-as-much-as-possible team.

As a small team, we’re hoping you can come in and be a big part of the TMM journey.

Specifically, we’re looking for you to help us better serve our community of marketers, organisers, and partners in the most positively lovely way possible.

So why this role?

The community is wonderful. We run a lot of events for them. We have some amazing partners and many great intentions.

But there are only so many hours in the day, and we’re beginning to get stretched. (It feels vulnerable to type this, but we want to be honest!). So, now is the time to bring number four in!

An extra, lovely human like you will help us help the folks we care about and the standards we hold ourselves to. You will also help us prove that kindness and commercial success do not need to be mutually exclusive concepts.

Hopefully, you’ll learn and have a lot of fun.

What is the character of the ideal person?

First, let’s start with your character because that’s what we mostly care about:
• You’ll be kind. And want to help the folks your life touches.
• You engage without ego – realising we operate as a team and with good intentions.
• You are trustworthy, as you will work both independently and remotely.
• You are a proactive, self starter. Once you’ve got your feet under the table, you’ll feel cool spotting problems and solving them without prompting.
• You are organised.
• You’re tech and social media literate and/or enthusiastic about learning if you don’t already know some of the stuff (we don’t expect people to know our whole tech stack).
• Have a natural style of written communication that is warm and kind.
• You are motivated by helping our community grow, learn and become better. You need to care about people – a lot.

The role will mainly focus on:

Community relationships & elements of social media creation
• Keeping in touch with the community on comments across social media channels
• Social media scheduling and creation – working with our co-founder to produce content
• Seeking out stories from the community so we can highlight and elevate them
• Seeking out opportunities to improve the experience of TMM for our community and feeding these back into the team

Partner relationships
• Being a point of contact for our partners, building relationships and offering prompt replies. In cases where you can deal with things – you do so proactively. In cases where you can’t – you raise them with the founding team.
• Helping to produce monthly reports for partners, highlighting activity TMM has delivered.

Organiser relationships
• Being an additional point of contact to our Head of Events, El, in helping our organiser community feel connected and valued in running TMM IRL events.

Experience:
• We aren’t asking you to provide evidence of having done this specific role before, as we believe there will be a fairly small subset of folks who have experience in it.
• That being said – us being us, we have hired solely on character before, and this ended up being unfair for both parties in the end.
• Therefore – we would love you to have read this job description carefully and feel like you will be able to deliver on the hopes of the role and be able to provide evidence in one fashion or another experience that is similar or tangential to what we’re asking for from a role view.

Compensation:

In return, you will be placed in an environment where the folks genuinely care about you and your headspace. Who will look to support you in any way we can and promote a healthy, balanced role in the meantime. You’ll have access to learning from some of the world’s best marketers and hopefully have fun.

We’d look to embrace the things you’re passionate about and find a place for you, even if we must acknowledge that there will just be some things that need doing. No team member is above doing anything (y’know, professional stuff!!), as we’re all in it together.
• £26 – 30.5k per annum (depending on experience)
• Full-time hours, to be worked around your schedule, with some travel to evening events required
• Remote role but UK based
• Minimum of 25 days but uncapped holiday (with approval)

Additional information:
• The interview process will include interviews with the entire team and some form of task.
• We’re committed to creating an inclusive environment for everyone, regardless of background or experience.
• We are a small business, so do not have a vast hierarchy – but you will report to the co-founding team.
• While we often work with fabulous freelancers, for this role, we’re seeking someone to join us as a full-time team member.
• The application process will close 11th October with interviews on w/c 21st October
