Following the end of a shared internal audit services arrangement with HealthShare NSW, eHealth is looking for a new Manager Internal Auditor to join the team!

eHealth NSW’s Internal Audit function provides:
• Assurance services that review and assess governance, risk management and control processes;
• Advisory services regarding new or significant changes to systems, processes or controls; and
• Investigation services into allegations of corruption, fraud or other serious wrongdoing.

As a Manager Internal Audit, you will be responsible for effectively managing eHealth NSW’s Internal Audit function in accordance with NSW Health Policy Directive PD2022_22 Internal Audit, the Internal Audit Charter and the new Global Internal Audit Standards.

You will work closely with the Office of the Chief Executive, Executive Management Team (EMT), the Finance Directorate and other Directorates (Service Delivery, Program Delivery and ICT Procurement Directorates)

You will report functionally to the Audit & Risk Management Committee (ARMC) for strategic direction and accountability and report administratively to the Chief Executive to facilitate day-to-day operations of the Internal Audit function.

What you will do

As an integral member of the Internal Audit , you will:
• Identify emerging issues/risks, their implications and propose solutions;
• Apply a risk-based audit methodology to developing a Strategic Internal Audit Plan (SIAP) and reporting audit findings;
• Report audit findings and monitor the implementation of agreed management actions;
• Determine the budget, resourcing levels, and service delivery model (in-house, co-sourced, outsourced) for the Internal Audit function in consultation with the Audit & Risk Management Committee (ARMC);
• Be the central point of contact and/or contract manager for internal audit and investigation services delivered by third-party providers;
• Ensure the Internal Audit function has a documented and operational quality assurance and improvement program;
• Collaborate with the Ministry and other NSW Health Internal Audit functions to enable delivery of more effective and efficient internal audit services across the cluster; and
• Provide secretariat support for the ARMC, including papers and reports, status of business arising, and liaising with members.

About you
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and current membership of a relevant professional body, such as CPA Australia or the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
• Demonstrative knowledge of legislation, principles, and practices pertaining to internal audit and investigations of serious wrongdoing.
• Previous experience working in Government or Health Sector highly regarded
• Autonomous and driven work ethic
