Copywriter/content Manager

We’re looking for a keen-as-mustard copywriter/content manager to work with our in-house designer and bring the Momentum brand to life. You’ll need strong conceptual abilities and the ability to write engaging copy for all kinds of mediums: eDMs, content, brochures, content, banner ads, content, web pages, content, and funny signs around the office. Anything. Momentum’s purpose is to ‘make energy more human’. So your writing needs to make energy sound more human. That often means turning complicated jargon into plain English. One day you’ll be rewriting a bunch of energy-saving tips so your grandma could understand it. The… next you’ll be working on a shareworthy social media campaign. It’s a mixed bag. Your responsibilities will include: – Turning briefs into effective creative pieces. We need words and ideas that encourage new customers to choose Momentum and make existing customers want to stick with us. – Writing for any medium. You’ll need to be comfortable with long and short copy for various audiences. – Generating concepts for ads or campaigns – Developing Momentum’s content plan and maintain an effective content calendar. – Creating engaging and informative content, optimised for SEO, as applicable. This may include long-form articles, interviews, infographics, social posts and videos. – Managing content creation from end-to-end including research, engaging technical experts, writing copy and ensuring appropriate images and captions are included in each piece. – Supporting the distribution of content across various channels, including our website, Facebook and Instagram. – Running larger projects autonomously and liaise with appropriate partners and SMEs to ensure copy is accurate – Ensuring all work maintains the Momentum tone of voice and brand guidelines. – Working well – and respectfully – with other creatives. (You’ll most likely be sharing half-baked ideas so you need to play nice.) – Developing a good working relationship with our legal department. You’ll need to refine your writing to meet our legal requirements without killing the copy. – Working autonomously and manage your time well. – Sticking to budgets – both from a production and head-hour point of view. Must-haves – The ability to write clear, persuasive, original copy. – Strong conceptual skills. – You’re a whiz at making complicated things sound simple. – Confidence in writing for any medium – print, digital, social. – You can create and manage a content calendar across our website and social channels. – You have strong content planning and coordination skills to ensure work is delivered on time and to budget. – You can write engaging long-form copy including articles, guides, interviews, landing pages and blog posts. – Keen interest in keeping up to date with creative work. You’ll be someone who loves to know what writing trends are making waves, which ad headlines are doing well, what people are sharing on social and why. – An interest in what makes people tick. Or more specifically, what makes them buy. – Spectacular attention to detail. – Ability to work well with tight timelines. – Flexibility. You’ll need to be good at juggling priorities.
