Email Marketing Specialist

Salary Range: $65,549.00 To $73,707.00 Annually

Position Summary

Taking care of our environment has never been more important than it is today. The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) is looking for an Email Marketing Specialist to join a team committed to protecting our most important natural areas and the plants and animals they sustain.

As part of the National Marketing and Development team, the Email Marketing Specialist is responsible for NCC’s email marketing program, including developing and deploying all outbound emails and automations. As the subject matter expert, the incumbent applies best practices and champion’s NCC’s brand while collaborating with internal stakeholders, ensuring that the emails work coherently with other marketing channels to deliver effective campaigns and meet campaign and department goals.

Responsibilities

Develop and deploy emails
• Project manage requests and all assets from various stakeholders
• Develop emails in email marketing platform, testing to ensure mobile responsiveness, accessibility, tracking, and error-free emails
• Manage audience selections, working with data team to ensure emails are being sent to the appropriate audiences
• Ensure email deliverability, including adherence to consent and privacy requirements
• Build and maintain email automations and email templates
• Lead the development and deployment of monthly email marketing newsletter and engagement campaigns

Monitor, optimize and report on KPIs
• Monitor, assess and report on email marketing performance
• Contribute to campaign reporting using data and insights from email marketing platform, dashboards and web platforms such as Google Analytics
• Identify, plan, execute and measure A/B tests
• Work with other channel leads to set up IDs and UTM parameters to monitor, track and report on conversions

Be the email marketing SME (Subject Matter Expert)
• Review and provide recommendations on campaign strategies, project charters and marketing and communications plans
• Review and provide recommendations on copy, imagery, layouts, templates, deployment dates, etc. ensuring email marketing is aligned to the brand, fundraising principles and email marketing best practices.
• Share insights in reports and meetings.

Position Requirements
• University degree or equivalent in marketing or fundraising
• Minimum 3 years’ experience, with 5+ years preferred. Experience should include building emails using HTML.
• Preferred experience in Luminate Online and Blackblaud.
• Strong design and creative development skills. Includes writing and adapting email copy.
• Strong technical skills with proven ability to troubleshoot and solve technical issues. Includes HTML, Google Analytics, Deliverability tools, Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Excellent project management to effectively manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment with numerous projects
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to make recommendations based on insights
• Effective interpersonal, negotiation, and diplomacy skills required to promote working partnerships among internal and external stakeholders
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Deep understanding of email best practices and email marketing trends
• Bilingual French/English would be an asset
