SUMMARY
Assists the Senior Accountant in the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department. Responsibilities include all aspects of accounts payable, payroll, credit card and bank reconciliations, recurring journal entries.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

RESPONSIBILITIES (Additional duties may be assigned)
Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
• Assists Senior Accountant and Controller in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
• Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
• Processes semi-monthly payroll and related functions utilizing Costpoint and ADP
• Performs data entry of AP vouchers and checks their validity; conducts the processing of AP checks on a weekly basis
• Responsible for the maintenance of the Accounts Payable Vendor Files
• Enters credit card and wire payments to vendors
• Conducts monthly reconciliation of bank accounts
• Prepares Monthly Recurring Journal Entries
• Assists with timesheet data entry and validation
• Processes 401(k) funding for each payroll
• Assists in the preparation of year-end financial statements and assists in the audit process with the completion of various audit schedules and/or any ad hoc reporting as assigned
• Completes additional projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related business degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
• 2-3 years of experience with general accounting financial systems for a government contractor preferred
• 1-3 years of experience in processing payroll required
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; ability to learn other computer software programs as needed
• ADP payroll experience preferred
• Working knowledge of and experience using Deltek Costpoint preferred
• Working knowledge of and experience using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Detail oriented, with strong organizational and analytic skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision

Pay: $55,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
