Description
The External Auditor works in the Risk Management Department assisting with the fulfilment of all corporate external affairs and information requests. External activities include but are not limited to regulatory examinations, agency audits, and annual certifications. This position coordinates with all levels of management in a matter that welcomes collaboration, services the company, and minimizes production interruption, while upholding confidentiality of proprietary corporate records both internally, across business lines, and with external third parties. External Auditors also assist with corrective action implementation and due diligence requests to mitigate findings and/or minimize assessed risks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
• Maintain the ability to be entrusted with sensitive and confidential information.
• Collaborate professionally with CMG business management and external parties.
• Assist in the engagement with the various departments for the collection of data and fulfillment of external audit requests. Follow up with other departments to obtain documents and information in a timely manner.
• Assist in gathering, archiving, and maintaining business records while ensuring documents are authorized for dissemination both internally and externally.
• Monitor and track all External Audit Requests. Update and maintain records of each audit, exam, certification as materials received and provided.
• Ensure deliverables to all external requests are accurate and the presentation of such information is orderly, professional, and complete.
• Develop corrective action plans in collaboration with the business owners, monitor the implementation and test remediation.
Qualifications And Experience
• Must have 3+ years of experience as External Auditor in the consumer financial industry.
• Prefer 2-5 years regulatory compliance experience.
• Must have worked with the State Examination System.
• Detail-oriented.
• Ability to influence others outside of direct reporting relationships.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced fluid environment.
• Knowledge and understanding of all channels including Retail, Wholesale and Correspondent Lending.
• Proficient in Adobe, Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel.
• Develop and maintain basic knowledge of all applicable laws and regulations affecting Consumer/Mortgage Lending, such as:
• TRID
• Equal Credit Opportunity Act
• Unfair, Deceptive, Act and Practices
• Appraisal Independence Requirements
• Anti-Money Laundering/Bank Secrecy Act
• Graham Leach Bliley Act

PHYSICAL And ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
This role operates in an ADA compliant office environment, utilizing typical office equipment and tasks including computer work. The position may involve partial stationary positions and moving throughout the day. Flexibility to work overtime to meet project deadlines is required.
CMG pays a competitive base which ranges from $65,000 to $80,000 annually. Factors that affect base salary may include: External Audit experience, overall knowledge of accounting, number of years worked in accounting and the mortgage industry, computer skills, customer service experience specific to working with mortgage lenders, and education.
