Remote Staff Accountant

Position Overview

This position is responsible for managing our clients’ financial information by researching and analyzing general ledger accounts and culminates with the preparation of financial statements each period. Additionally, the Staff Accountant is responsible for communicating with the client for data in regards to the compilation of financial statements and maintaining client… satisfaction. This position reports to the Director of Accounting and has no direct reports.

Responsibilities Include:

· Prepare financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from clients, Ctuit, and other departments

· Record clients’ inventories each period

· Record transactions in Intacct that are not captured through the POS

· Communicate with Ctuit and Intacct to troubleshoot software issues or specific questions regarding mapping and coding

· Review, code, and import banking transactions into Intacct

· Record paid outs or petty cash and daily deposits in Ctuit or Intacct if the client did not use the POS

· Maintain the cash flow tool in Ctuit for clients that use it

· Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files and reconciling accounts to properly record assets and liabilities, expenses, sales and cost of goods

· Review the p&l and balance sheet to make period end accruals, amortize prepaid expenses, depreciate fixed assets and record adjusting and reclassification journal entries, if necessary

· Prepare, audit and file various tax forms including 8027s, business tax license renewals, 571-Ls, SF Payroll tax expense, prepaid sales tax and other quarterly filings

· Perform quarterly balance sheet reconciliations for all assigned clients

· Communicate with BOE or other agencies when necessary to resolve outstanding issues

· Answer accounting and financial questions by researching, interpreting and verifying data and prepares spreadsheets or other reports when necessary

· Communicate with client to provide answers to questions related to the p&l, balance sheet, or bank data, and to obtain details on deposits, paid outs, bank data, or cash balances that required additional clarity

· Work on special projects as assigned by Director of Accounting, Director of Operations, or Owner

Skills/Qualifications:

· Ability to work collaboratively with both clients and teammates

· Ability to manage projects and assignments with extreme accuracy and efficiency: detail oriented

· Excellent communication, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills

· Strong knowledge of accounting principles/practices

· Strong technical aptitude in automated accounting systems as well as databases and reporting tools

· Proficient with spreadsheet, database and word processing applications

Required Experience/Education:

· A Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business, finance or related field or equivalent experience is required.

· A minimum of one year experience as a GL accountant required.

· Background in the restaurant industry is required (FOH, BOH, Management).

· Candidates with extensive accounting (5+ years) experience without a degree will be considered. Since our systems are all cloud-based, the candidate should be comfortable using a computer for 95% of the work being completed, including learning three specific software packages.

· This position may occasionally require evening/weekend work resulting in overtime.
