Placement duration: 6 months
Language Requirements: English Level 5-Fluent
Eligibility: Open to Canadian Citizens (including Permanent Residents and Open Work permit holders) only
The Volunteer’s Role
Currently, with over volunteers in placement in countries around the world, we want to ensure that we are up-to-date on the current and ongoing health crisis of Mpox.
As a researcher, you will research the risks and mitigations in each of the countries we work in, provide succinct summaries of what local and worldwide organizations are stating regarding the crisis and notice changing trends in your monthly research.
These findings will be used to determine any changes we need to make to our in-country programming, as well as to information provided to in-country volunteers pre-departure.
As a volunteer, you will:
Research and monitor Mpox information by country (number of cases, statistics, restrictions, entry requirements, health care challenges, trends, etc.)
Identify reputable sources of Mpox statistics and data.
Gather information from reputable sources about Mpox – WHO, IATA, local health ministry/authority, etc.
Provide recommendations on obvious changes/challenges.
Essential Requirements & Background:
Bilingual Spanish/English and/or French/English
Research Experience/Knowledge
Ability to synthesize information from a variety of sources.
Familiarity with Cuso International Regions/Countries of Operations
