Responsibilities
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Payroll Accountant in Sterling, Va. Roles and Responsibilities:
• Payroll Processing: Manage and oversee the end-to-end payroll process for all employees, including hourly, salaried, and contract workers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• ADP Expertise: Utilize ADP Workforce Now (or other ADP systems) to process payroll, maintain employee data, and generate payroll reports; Troubleshoot ADP system issues and liaise with ADP support as necessary
• Compliance and Audits: Ensure payroll complies with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Davis-Bacon Act, Service Contract Act (SCA), and other relevant government regulations; Assist with internal and external audits related to payroll
• Government Contracting: Maintain knowledge of government contracting payroll requirements, including certified payroll, fringe benefits administration, and wage determinations under SCA and other applicable regulations
• Reporting: Prepare and analyze payroll-related reports such as payroll registers, labor distribution reports, and quarterly/year-end tax filings; Provide payroll cost information for financial and government reporting as needed
• Reconciliations: Reconcile payroll data to general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy in reporting and adherence to accounting standards; Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly
• Process Improvement: Continuously seek ways to streamline payroll processes, improve accuracy, and ensure compliance with changing regulations
Requirements
• ADP Workforce Now experience
• Experience working with a large organization (2,000 employees)
• Ability to work in a high-volume environment
• Working with payroll from multiple states (roughly 35-40)
• Experience with garnishments and taxes
• T&E experience (they will be using Chrome River, so this system is ideal, but any T&E experience will do)
• Someone who understands the processing, T&E & GL side of things; Can make sure the payroll entry was posted to the GL correctly, etc.
• A general curious mind to formulate new ideas and process improvements
• Someone who is a team player
• Someone ok working in a startup environment, understands things will change
• Need to be meticulous – someone who can follow the breadcrumbs and make sure the back end looks accurate
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
