Role:
FIND Services is a startup company dedicated to connecting people with remote job opportunities. You will be responsible for securing the necessary funding to support a startup like FIND. You will research prospective grants that support the company’s operations and initiatives. This position involves researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to foundations, government entities, and other funding sources. The Grant Writer collaborates closely with the Founders to understand funding needs, align proposals with organizational goals, and ensure that all applications reflect the mission and values of FIND Services. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator with a talent for persuasive writing and a deep understanding of grant applications. This is a volunteer position.
Responsibilities:
• Grant Research and Identification: Identify and research potential grant opportunities from foundations, government agencies, and other funding sources for startups that align with FIND Services’s mission and programmatic goals.
• Proposal Development: Write compelling and persuasive grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documents, that clearly articulate the organization’s needs, impact, and alignment with the funder’s priorities.
• Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with the founders and other team members to gather necessary information. Provide support to the founders for meetings with investors/donors
• Grant Submission and Management: Manage the entire grant submission process, including adhering to deadlines, following funder guidelines, and ensuring that all required documents are submitted in a timely and organized manner.
• Reporting and Evaluation: Track the progress of submitted grants, prepare and submit required progress reports to funders, and evaluate the effectiveness of the grant strategy to ensure ongoing improvement and success.
• Exceptional Writing and Research Skills: Ability to craft compelling, clear, and persuasive grant proposals with strong attention to detail.
• Analytical and Organizational Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex information, synthesize data, and organize content effectively within grant proposals.
Qualifications:
• 1+ year of experience in grant research & writing.
• Previous experience in grant writing, fundraising, or investment implementations is preferred but not required.
• Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently with purpose and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• High proficiency in all Microsoft Office areas, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong research skills and the ability to identify and qualify for funding opportunities.
• Familiarity with grant application processes for startups, small businesses and organizations.
• Ability to understand and interpret complex funding guidelines and requirements.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Willingness to work collaboratively and respond to feedback is essential.
