Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Database Administrator, Senior
We are seeking a talented and experienced Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Database Administrator (Senior) to join our dynamic team and help us manage and optimize our cloud database infrastructure. The Database Administrator will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical Oracle databases. This role involves ensuring the availability, consistent performance, and security of our OCI database systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, with specific experience in Oracle databases and OCI services.

What You Will Do:
• Database Implementation and Configuration:
• Design, implement, and configure Oracle databases within OCI.
• Set up Oracle Autonomous Databases and DBaaS solutions.
• Ensure database environments are optimized for performance, availability, and security.
• Lead the onboarding process for new clients involving Oracle databases within OCI.
• Ensure all onboarding activities are completed within agreed timelines and meet quality standards.
• Set up Oracle Autonomous Databases and DBaaS solutions as part of the onboarding process.
• Database Maintenance and Optimization:
• Monitor and maintain database health, ensuring high levels of performance, availability, and security.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as backups, patching, and upgrades.
• Optimize database performance through tuning and proactive monitoring.
• Backup and Recovery:
• Implement and manage database backup and recovery strategies.
• Ensure regular testing and validation of recovery procedures.
• Develop disaster recovery plans and ensure they are tested and up-to-date.
• Security Management:
• Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures.
• Ensure data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
• Manage user access and privileges, adhering to least privilege principles.
• Automation and Scripting:
• Develop and maintain scripts for database management and automation tasks.
• Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform for database provisioning and management.
• Automate routine tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
• Set up and configure database monitoring tools to detect and resolve issues promptly.
• Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolution.
• Generate and analyze performance reports, implementing improvements as needed.
• Collaboration and Support:
• Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to support database-related activities.
• Provide technical support and expertise to internal teams and stakeholders.
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support as needed.
What You Need:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services.
• Proficiency in database management, performance tuning, and optimization.
• Experience with Oracle Autonomous Database and Database as a Service (DBaaS) solutions.
• Knowledge of database security best practices.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) and automation tools (e.g., Terraform).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Expertise in backup and recovery processes, including RMAN.
• Relevant Oracle certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) are a plus.
• OCI certifications (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Foundations, Architect, Operations) are a plus.
Nice To Have:
• Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Salary:
$150,000 – $170,000 annual salary
