POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE IN CHEMINFORMATICS- GRADE 7
Job Ref: 086106
Salary: £39,105 – £45,163 pa
A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the group of Royal Society Research Professor A. I. Cooper FRS (Fellow of the Royal Society) to work on the intersection of cheminformatics and automation, focusing on using computational tools to support our activities in automated chemistry.
You will be an ambitious individual motivated to push the boundaries of materials chemistry, supramolecular chemistry and catalysis by creating and implementing computational and automated synthetic methods. You should have a PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cheminformatics, Computational Chemistry, Bioinformatics, or a related field. An ideal candidate for this post should have a strong blend of expertise in chemistry, computational science, and data… analysis. Previous experience with experimental organic chemistry, materials chemistry, or supramolecular chemistry would be an advantage.
The main criteria for appointment will be skills, motivation, and a passion for the concept of autonomous research using robots fused with computation rather than a narrower view of publication record. This post would be ideal for a curious scientist who enjoys teamwork, maintains an up-to-date knowledge of their field, and is keen on sharing knowledge and training other group members.
The project will be supervised by Professor Andrew Cooper FRS and it will be based in the Materials Innovation Factory and the Autonomous Chemistry Laboratory. You will have the opportunity to work in a unique field and gain experience that could help to launch a career either in academia or in industry.
The post is available for 2 years.
Informal enquiries to Dr Zuzana Oriou ([email protected]).
