Skills
• Proven experience as an Oracle Database Developer
• Strong knowledge of bioinformatics data and research methodologies
• Expertise in Advanced SQL, including writing complex queries and using indexing and optimization techniques
• Proficiency in database design, development, and performance tuning within an Oracle environment
• Familiarity with biological databases and datasets commonly used in bioinformatics
• Experience with data integration and migration across various bioinformatics tools and databases
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage time in a part-time capacity
Responsibilities
• Create, develop, and maintain Oracle databases that support bioinformatics applications and research initiatives
• Work closely with bioinformatics teams to understand data requirements and ensure efficient management and retrieval of data
• Write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze large biological data sets effectively
• Optimize database performance to ensure high availability, scalability, and security of data
• Develop and implement database scripts, procedures, and triggers to automate processes and enhance data workflows
• Conduct regular health checks, troubleshoot issues, and perform performance tuning to ensure database integrity
• Maintain the integrity and quality of data within bioinformatics databases
• Collaborate with other developers and researchers to ensure database solutions align with project goals
Qualifications
• Proven experience as an Oracle Database Developer
• Strong knowledge of bioinformatics data and research methodologies

Education Requirements
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience Requirements
• Proven experience as an Oracle Database Developer
• Experience with bioinformatics tools and databases
• Knowledge of data visualization tools or techniques relevant to biological data is a plus.
