The Risk Internship Program was developed for undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in developing risk management expertise. It is designed for those who are highly analytical, interested in business issues and curious about career opportunities in risk management within the finance industry. The program provides you access to a virtual classroom and on the job training where you will learn how to leverage your problem solving and technical skills to help make critical business decisions. You will be assigned both a manager and a mentor to help support your learnings from the classroom to apply in the workplace setting.

The program begins with a week-long Intern Orientation session for you to engage with fellow interns and learn about the programs available to you. You will advance your knowledge and expertise through skills-based training and on-the-job assignments. You will participate in additional programs such as our Speaker Series where each session focuses on a different aspect of our culture including employee resource groups, inclusion, and diversity and much more. What’s in It for Me?

You will join us as a Senior Intern Analyst for the Winter of 2024 in the Risk Department for a 4-month or 8-month internship based on your availability. You will be considered for one of these areas within Risk and will assist the team with various tasks:
• Investment Risk provides independent risk oversight, constructive challenge, and risk insights at a Total Fund level, across public and private asset portfolios and partners with the Office of the Chief Investment Officer, Total Fund Management, Investment Departments, Sustainable Investing and Finance.
• Enterprise Risk & Analytics owns and manages Risk systems, oversees the generation of risk measures, ensures compliance with risk limits, estimates the impact of fund changes on risk measures, develops risk analytics, and models, formulates Board-level Risk Policy, and coordinates the development of management-level risk standards and guidelines.

Upon completion of your term, you will be considered for future internships or a fulltime role.

Who We’re Looking For

The Risk Program is a four-month or eight-month internship for interns in their last year of their post-secondary education program.

Candidates in an undergraduate or master’s program who are returning to school after their work term, are eligible to apply. We look for candidates with a strong track record of academic success while balancing extracurricular activities. You must have a strong interest in learning new technologies and finance, as well as possessing good communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills. In addition, you will combine energy, enthusiasm, and intellectual curiosity, with a demonstrated interest in investing.
