Job Outline:
We’re looking for an engaged and highly organised person to join our Closing & Portfolio Teams with great language and client relationship skills. We’re enabling great businesses to succeed through equity crowdfunding. You will share your time 50% assisting the Closing team and 50% assisting the Portfolio Team.
Working within the Closing and Portfolio Teams Crowdcube, you will be part of a company’s funding journey by managing all matters relating to the completion of Crowdcube fundraising rounds and post-funding support. Being fluent in French is desirable but not essential for this position and will be based 3 days per week in our Barcelona, London or Paris offices dependent on your location.
Crowdcube is a regulated financial services firm and is required to comply with a range of laws and regulations relating to the delivery of its services to customers.
What you will be doing:
Closing Specialist
Responsibility for managing all matters relating to the completion… of Crowdcube fundraising rounds and post-funding support, including but not limited to:
• Management of the completion process and client relationships for European and UK companies.
• Raising invoices
• Preparing and submitting compliance packs
• Updating companies with regards to Anti-Money Laundering checks and payment collection (working closely with the Payments and AML Teams)
• Working closely with the legal team in order to finalise the completion of the rounds
• Assisting the Closing Team with:
• developing processes (with and without Product support) for improving the efficiency of dealing with company completions.
• working with the Product team to improve the experience for companies completing rounds, including improvements to the portfolio and other new product offerings
• improving company content, FAQs and communications
Portfolio Executive
Operational
• Acting as the intermediary between companies and their investors, facilitating the one-to-many relationship that the Crowdcube nominee necessitates
• Assisting companies with gathering nominee investor consent
• Representing our nominee investors’ interests with portfolio companies
• Working closely with the Crowdcube legal team to ensure we are fulfilling our obligations, both to companies and investors
• Translating complex corporate actions into retail-investor friendly language for distribution to our investors
• Running pre-emption and private crowdfunding campaigns for our portfolio
• Facilitating the exit of portfolio companies – including acquisitions, secondaries and IPOs; getting the best deal for our investors, distilling decisions / comms and distributing any proceeds, whether it be cash or share considerations.
• Actively monitoring the performance, share price and status of our portfolio
• Liaising with insolvency practitioners on any failed business and keeping investors informed of any progress
• Distributing investor updates on behalf of portfolio companies
• Educating our portfolio on how to engage appropriately with the Crowdcube nominee and their investors
• Gathering feedback from companies on the raising process.
Commercial
• Maximising the life time value of our clients by ensuring that they return to Crowdcube for subsequent rounds of funding.
• Generating return raise leads of our equity fundraising team by:
• Day-to-day oversight of portfolio activity through nominee management
• Reviewing of company updates
• Engaging with our portfolio through newsletters, WhatsApp, outbound campaigns, partner offers and events
Ideally you will have:
• Great language skills
• Fluency in French as an additional language, though this is not essential.
• Strong project management skills.
• Strong B2B customer service skills and experience in dealing with other European business clients.
• A high attention to detail, be extremely organised with the ability to prioritise your own workload and manage your own time.
• Previous experience gained in either administration or legal secretarial work.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Proven knowledge of MS Office and/or Google Apps for work.
• Prior experience of working in a financial services or regulated environment (highly desirable).
• Interest in the startup ecosystem, though this is not essential.
And you will be:
• Highly confident and experienced speaking and working with both European and UK clients at C-Level
• A motivated and proactive individual with the willingness to collaborate with and support other teams.
• A problem solver; you tackle a problem in a logical, informed manner, weighing up all elements before making a call, with a keen eye for consistency.

Our interview process typically consists of an initial phone screen, an interview with the hiring manager and a task, followed by a final interview with other members of the team. There aren’t any trick questions and the task will typically be based on a real scenario the team have worked on.
