Responsibilities:
• Develop and carry out the department’s annual work plan, support operational planning and bring the resulting activities to completion.
• Plan, organize, manage, control and optimize the allocation of your team’s activities.
• Effectively manage, guide and channel individual and team performance toward the completion of the annual work plan and the achievement of departmental and organizational objectives.
• Plan, organize and monitor operational activities for the entire investment life cycle (pipeline, due diligence, preparing and reviewing financial models and market assessments, trades, etc.).
• Plan, coordinate and oversee development of the portfolio of funds (pipeline management, asset allocation, investment partner relations management, etc.).
• Develop and present investment and… divestment recommendations to decision-making bodies.
• Coordinate the production and delivery of reporting to governing bodies for funds under management.
• Propose and implement investment and divestment strategies and mechanisms and monitor their impacts.
• Establish management and communication practices that support talent attraction and retention, skills development and employee engagement and diversity, in keeping with Desjardins International Development’s values.
• Ensure compliance with policies and directives for FONIDI Management investments.
• Continuously improve the team’s processes and practices.
What You Bring to the Table:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (graduate degree is an asset).
• At least 8 years of experience in finance and/or investment in private markets (debt and equity) or venture capital, plus 3 years of management experience.
• Experience in impact investing is a major asset.
• Knowledge of the financial sector or international trade is an asset.
• Comprehension of standards, practices and frameworks for measuring and monitoring impact.
• Strong organizational, planning and management skills.
• Ability to effectively lead and coach a team.
• Capacity to focus on solutions while balancing risk.
• Advanced capacity for synthesis and analysis, ability to make recommendations and make consistent decisions on issues.
• Ability to see the big picture while paying close attention to detail.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with collaborators and partners.
• Advanced proficiency in written and spoken French.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English or Spanish.
• Ability to work under pressure to manage deliverables and meet deadlines.
