Title of the Job: Investment Counsellor (VCIM)

Location: Vancouver, BC

Job Description: Description :The Investment Counsellor VCIM works in an assigned region to develop business opportunities for VCIM and to on-board and service client relationships that they have cultivated. They will work with their clients to uncover their financial needs and provide a holistic approach to managing their client’s wealth and finances. They will work in partnership with a PM to determine the most appropriate investment strategy to meet their clients’ financial goals. They will provide excellent on-going service and advice.This is a permanent, full time role.A typical day would involve:
• Assessing needs and advise high net-worth members and organizations on appropriate asset allocation, selection of a model portfolio of pooled funds, and ongoing monitoring of suitability issues to establish their Investment Policy Statement and to deliver discretionary, socially responsible, investment… services that meet their investment objectives.
• Evaluating performance and make adjustments of to a members’ portfolios on a regular basis in accordance with market trends and economic conditions so that members’ assets are optimally allocated.
• Building and maintain a book of investment members, delivering a holistic investment and wealth planning experience to members so that business objectives are met.
• Developing new member acquisitions and participate in VCIM marketing initiatives to promote brand awareness internally and externally and increase market share.

You have:
• Must meet regulatory requirements to be registered as AR/AAR.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), or CIM (Chartered Investment Manager).
• CFP (Certified Financial Planner), or Personal Financial Planner (PFP).
• Proven experience in investment counselling or wealth management.
• Experience in working with institutional clients and submitting RFPs.
• Solid experience in leading with financial planning and providing tailored advice.
• Experience in developing and managing investment portfolios, including socially responsible investments and ESG.
• Proficiency in financial analysis and performance evaluation.
• Familiarity with market trends, economic conditions, and their impact on investment portfolios.
• Skillful in retail banking, business development, networking and referring to specialized experts.
