We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Marketing Manager to lead the regional marketing team and grow our new customer base (schools and districts) across Canada and the US. Ideally, this is a hybrid role in Calgary, Alberta but we will consider remote work for the right candidates in the US or Canada. This full-time contract role will cover a 20-month maternity leave.
You will join a Global Marketing team looking to make sure our products are first and foremost in the hearts and minds of teachers, parents, and our ultimate end user – the kids!
What you will be doing…
As the Regional Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for driving rapid growth and generating demand for our phenomenal educational products.
You will lead a team of three to… increase brand awareness and create content that resonates with district and school leadership, ensuring our marketing initiatives are impactful and hitting the mark. You will manage exciting projects and liaise with the global design and copy teams to support your region’s initiatives. Working closely with the product, sales, and global leadership team, you’ll ensure revenue objectives are achieved while managing costs and juggling competing priorities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong familiarity with B2B marketing, and experience in marketing Education. Exceptional communication skills will serve you well when working with remote stakeholders and team members
Key responsibilities will include…
Campaign Strategy
• Plan, develop, and oversee the execution of comprehensive demand generation campaigns, leveraging various channels such as digital advertising, influencer marketing, content marketing, email, social media, PR, and events.
• Collaborate with the global marketing team to ensure alignment with the brand, overarching marketing strategies, and goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the target audience, market trends, and competitive landscape.
• Closely monitor campaign performance ensuring campaigns deliver a return on investment (ROI) and report key metrics and learnings to stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
Lead Generation
• Utilize marketing automation tools to oversee lead generation programs, including targeted email campaigns, webinars, and other content-driven initiatives.
• Implement data-driven strategies to optimize lead conversion rates and increase customer acquisition.
• Oversee planning and coordination of events, both virtual and in-person, to promote the company’s services and enhance brand visibility.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of lead generation efforts.
Content Development
• Collaborate with sales and internal subject matter experts to develop compelling and targeted content that resonates with the target audience.
• Ensure content is optimized for different channels and buyer personas.
Market Insight and Research
• Stay abreast of trends and developments in the US and Canadian EdTech market, keeping a pulse on the competitive landscape and emerging opportunities.
• Conduct market research to identify and capitalize on market-specific demand generation strategies.
Collaboration and Alignment
• Work closely with sales and product leadership to ensure seamless coordination between marketing and sales efforts, contributing to a unified customer experience.
• Provide regular updates and performance reports to stakeholders, demonstrating the impact of marketing initiatives.
Managerial duties
• Coach and develop a remote team of three marketers.
• Develop yearly marketing plan & budget for the region.
• Ongoing budget management and reporting of campaign results.
• Management of direct reports, including performance reviews.
• Hiring for the team where required.
What we are seeking in this person:
• 10+ years of marketing experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a similar marketing leadership role and a strong emphasis on the Education sector and B2B, SaaS, or technology sectors.
• A leader with a proven track record of empathetic mentorship and the ability to foster a supportive and inclusive environment through their high emotional intelligence.
• Commercially minded with strong financial literacy including experience managing budgets for marketing campaigns, analyzing marketing spend and ROI.
• Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms, including CRM systems and marketing automation tools (ideally Salesforce).
• Proactive work style, able to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal oversight.
• Proven expertise in project management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, ideally with a marketing or communications major. Additional digital marketing qualifications would be advantageous.
