Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Senior Plumbing Engineering Design Professional to join our Houston team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating system designs and drawings using Revit and AutoCAD, as well as collaborating with senior staff to execute portions of complex systems.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and modify Revit models of plumbing and fire suppression systems.
• Create project drawings, flow diagrams, riser diagrams, control diagrams, and equipment schedules.
• Organize and maintain design documents for multiple projects.
• Develop system specifications and prepare necessary calculations.
• Collaborate with project teams to complete projects on aggressive schedules.
• Utilize Revit, Navisworks, and clash detection software to identify interferences with other building elements.
• Mentor and direct less experienced staff.
• Ensure all work aligns with HOK Standards and complies with governing codes and regulations.
• Continuously seek new knowledge related to engineering practices, principles, and regulatory updates.
• Take personal responsibility for fostering sustainable practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications
• Advanced knowledge of engineering principles, building codes, and plumbing/fire protection system design for large and complex projects.
• Proficiency in Revit and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to interpret consultant design documents and coordinate with HVAC and electrical designers.
• Experience producing drawings, specifications, and calculations with limited senior guidance.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a team environment.
• Basic understanding of sustainability and LEED guidelines.
• Education: High school diploma required; Associate, Technology, or Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.
• Certification: Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of design experience across various building types (commercial, institutional, healthcare, etc.).
• Experience with high-purity water systems, compressed air, and specialty gas systems is a plus.
• LEED credential required within 6 months of employment.
• ASPE CPD credentials required within the first year of employment.
