Business Engineering Manager (Site)

The People Policy and Procedure Manager is responsible for supporting with the development, implementation, and maintenance of people policies and their management through the Integrated Management System (IMS). The People Policy & Procedure Manager will align policies with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and organisational objectives. The Policy and Procedure Manager will collaborate across the function and business to promote best practices, manage compliance risks, and drive continuous improvement in line with ISO standards and other relevant frameworks.

Role details:

Salary: Circa £50,000 per annum (DEO)

Hours: 37.5 per week

Working pattern: Monday to Friday

Location: Remote – UK Based (Occassional travel within the network, as and when required)

What you’ll do:
• Draft and update policies to support the delivery of Gist’s strategic objectives
• Develop, review, and update people policies to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards
• Support with the development and shaping of the colleague value proposition for the business and develop people policies and procedures that will deliver it
• Collaborate with departments to ensure policies align operational practices and business objectives
• Monitor changes in legislation and industry standards to update policies to ensure Gist remains legally compliant
• Educate colleagues on policy changes and provide training as needed
• Process changes and update the Integrated Management System (IMS) as required
• Contribute to internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of policies and identify areas for improvement
• Support external auditors during certification and surveillance audits
• Help develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of policies

Who you are:
• Experience in policy management, or compliance roles, preferably within a regulated industry
• Knowledge of ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 45001) with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders
• Experience of working in a heavily unionized business and engaging effectively with them.
• High ethical standards and integrity
• Proactive and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• CIPD educated or equivalent experience
