Business Development Manager – Recruitment Agency

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development and Account Manager to join our dynamic recruitment agency team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and managing the full recruitment lifecycle. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong background in business development within the recruitment industry, excellent account management skills, and a thorough understanding of labor laws and recruitment processes in Canada.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the client base.
• Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet and exceed growth targets.
• Build a robust pipeline of prospective clients through networking, cold calling, industry events, and leveraging existing relationships.
• Present and promote recruitment services to potential clients, articulating… the value proposition and benefits.

2. Account Management:
• Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients.
• Understand clients’ staffing needs and provide tailored recruitment solutions.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and promptly addressing any concerns or issues.
• Collaborate with clients to forecast staffing requirements and plan recruitment activities accordingly.

3. Market Knowledge and Strategy:
• Stay updated on industry trends, labor market conditions, and competitor activities.
• Provide insights and recommendations to enhance service offerings and improve client satisfaction.
• Contribute to the development of marketing and promotional materials.

4. Performance Tracking:
• Set and achieve sales targets and KPIs related to business development and client retention.
• Prepare regular reports on business development activities, sales performance, and client engagement.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development and account management within the recruitment or staffing industry.
• Proven track record of successfully acquiring new clients and building a substantial book of business.
• Experience managing the full recruitment lifecycle in a recruitment agency setting is an asset.

Skills and Abilities:
• Strong understanding of recruitment processes, labor laws, and employment regulations in Canada.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proficiency in using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.

Other Requirements:
• Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
• Willingness to travel locally to meet with clients as needed.

Compensation and Benefits
• Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 per year, plus commission and quarterly/yearly bonus
