Position Summary: The technology product management team owns the delivery of external customer facing and internal World Kinect Corporation products. The team comprises of commercial and product owners that work together and partner closely with relevant business owners in taking products from initial ideas, through refinement, to an established vision, strategic roadmap, delivery execution and ongoing production usage. As the Product Owner for the Aviation Fuel Management System (AFMS), you will oversee the development, deployment, and support of the AFMS platform in collaboration with operational and industry professionals within World Kinect Corporation. Your role is crucial in ensuring the system meets the needs of our global operations and accurately manages aviation fuel stock accounting and in to plane fuel sales.

Success in this role hinges on the ability to understand customer needs, provide innovative and high-quality solutions, and to collaborate seamlessly across a highly matrixed organization with various teams focused on different departmental goals. While this role is primarily execution-focused, it also requires a strategic and analytical mindset and effective ongoing engagement with business leadership and stakeholders. This role provides visibility to customers and product end users, as well as frequent updates with executive leadership. The product owner will have autonomy to manage challenging requirements, with support whenever required from the Product Manager and the wider product management team.

Key Responsibilities
• Support the Product Manager in the development and continuous improvement of the AFMS, and related products, with a primary focus on aviation operations, with particular focus on physical operations, in particular into plane refuelling and fuel stock accounting.
• Manage relationships with vendors to ensure high-quality service and support, and compliance with any contract or SOW related to the system.
• Identify and support opportunities to deploy the AFMS, or related products, across various operational locations, including bid support, costing assessments, value assessments, identification and the specification of requirements according to business and operational constraints and needs, and the development of deployment plans and support of operations planning.
• Provide Subject Matter Expert support and advice on the installation, operation, configuration and support of the platform and it’s components and integrations.
• Deliver training and ongoing operational support for the AFMS users, and junior team members.
• Ensure timely and effective responses to support requests and the upkeep of all relevant records in the handling of support of the system.
• Oversee the accurate tracking and reporting of aviation fuel stock levels and proactively offer assistance, and where necessary, enforce company policy of timely transmitting of sales data and the completion of the reconciliation in line with business critical needs.
• Comply with the idea lifecycle process and ensure the Product Innovators (PI) Board, and any JIRA related tickets are kept accurate and complete.
• Develop an expert level understanding of fuel sales and accounting processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policy.
• Collaborate with technology teams to integrate hardware solutions and API feeds into, or out of, the AFMS platform, provide and participate in requirements (physical and technical) definition, coordination of development and support teams delivering the work, complete and successful testing and change control, including upkeep of any records relevant to the integration, including PI Board Initiatives, JIRA tickets, LeanIX Asset Inventory, Planet FM equipment inventory, and any other relevant system of record.
• Maintain accurate records of the location, version, and operational status, of hardware and software components of the AFMS, and ensure optimal performance is maintained, and any critical or sensitive failures are escalated appropriately.
• Maintain the system and all of it’s components with up to date version control and in particular, application of an appropriate and robust security management regimen.
• Support the product manager in stakeholder and customer engagement, supporting any user groups, training, support or development forums, and promote the benefits of the AFMS across the business.
• Guide and mentor junior team members on application of the system within the industry, and to solving physical and technical problems within the constraints of the operation and it’s available resources.
• Support the other products within the ETPM department’s management occasionally, and as required by the Product Manager, or Senior Director of GPO Technology Systems.

Performance Expectations
• Consistently meet or exceed external and internal SLA response and fix times,or escalate when SLA timings are likely to breach.
• Effectively deploy the AFMS to various operational locations, including feature/component requirement identification, configuration, and deployment, and coordination of testing and deployment effort with a multi-disciplined deployment team across all areas and systems of the business.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of fuel sales, deliveries, stock levels and accounting reconciliation processes.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting or notifiable events, such as issue or testing escalations, deadlines at risk, significant or sensitive user misuse or misunderstanding of the system, absence from work, or inability to perform the requirements of their role for any reason.
• Comply with change control practices and ensure complete and accurate testing is conducted prior to release of enhancements or components into the production system, including requirements specification, identification of success and failure criteria, coordination of testing with all relevant stakeholders to ensure testing is completed by all parties within the test window, testing sign off and upkeep of sign off records, identification of deployment and rollback plan and oversight of release into production and management of post-release hypercare.

• Leads the Iteration Demo/Showcase.
• Supports development of training material with support team for external and internal team training.
• Provides ongoing leadership updates to key stakeholders and product manager.

Experience: 5+ years of experience.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Master’s degree or MBA or equivalent relevant industry experience preferred

Geographic Scope & Travel Requirements

Travel to operational sites, or prospective operational sites will be required infrequently, potentially for up to 3 weeks, very rarely longer. Travel for internal business meetings, vendor or customer engagements, or external training, is required infrequently, potentially for up to 2 weeks.
