Remote CAAS Manager

Their growing CAAS (Client Accounting & Advisory Services) team works closely with entrepreneurial and middle-market clients, helping them turn financial data into meaningful business insight. What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll operate as a hands-on accounting leader across multiple client engagements, responsible for both execution and oversight.

Core Responsibilities
• Own the accuracy and timeliness of monthly financial statements
• Perform account analysis, financial reporting, and variance analysis
• Oversee and support AP/AR processes
• Maintain general accounting systems and GL integrity
• Process and post journal entries; manage general ledger activity
• Research, analyze, and document accounting matters
• Process payroll and related monthly, quarterly, and annual filings
• Prepare basic federal C-Corp, S-Corp, partnership, and individual returns
• Prepare book and tax depreciation schedules with proper asset classification
• Support GAAP compliance and internal control monitoring
• Provide hands-on support across special projects and client initiatives

Leadership & Growth
• Help recruit, mentor, and train CAAS team members
• Develop strong client relationships with an advisory mindset
• Contribute to business development and referral cultivation
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and client leadership
• Drive client satisfaction through proactive communication and execution

What They’re Looking For
• 4+ years of recent public accounting, tax, review, or audit experience
• OR 4+ years as an accountant handling audits, financial reporting, and moderate-to-complex month-end closings
• Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA strongly preferred
• Master’s in Taxation, Finance, or related advanced degree is a plus
• Experience with:
• QuickBooks Desktop & Online
• Xero
• CCH Suite
• Or ability to quickly learn new systems
• Advanced Excel skills (and strong MS Office proficiency)
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Client-service mindset with entrepreneurial energy

Location: Chicago, Illinois, US

Salary: 100000 – 120000
