We are looking for an experienced Senior Advisor – Finance to act as a business partner with the California sites’ management teams and liaise with Borax European site and Rio Tinto support functions on behalf of the business unit in connection with finance support delivery. The majority of the work is based onsite with occasional remote work along with visits to the Company’s other locations.

Reporting to the Finance Business Partner and working in a collaborative community you will be:
• Lead the monthly close process and support the financial & regulatory reporting
• Manage escalations from stakeholders and ensure timely resolution
• Support the manager to run overall operations and to balance the various business priorities
• Manage relationships with various internal and external stakeholders and be the first touchpoint for issues and resolutions
• Prepare and review the monthly financial statements, including the data validation in SAP.
• Measure performance against defined KPIs and present the review to your stakeholders and top management monthly
• Sign off our internal control procedures & work with internal and external auditors to ensure a controlled SOX compliance (if needed) environment and substantive audits
• Continuously improve our processes with an innovative mindset by leveraging data analytics and digital solutions
• Participate and lead transition projects
• Ensure documentation (policies, procedures etc.) is correctly maintained on all activities
What you’ll bring
• Is committed to the safety of yourself and your team
• Has a CPA designation or equivalent experience
• Has 7-9 years of relevant work experience
• Brings advanced knowledge and experience of working with SAP
• Has 3 years or more of relevant team lead experience
• Knowledge of business processes such as general accounting, accounts payable/receivable, financial planning & reporting, intercompany accounting, and analytics is required
• Experience or strong interest towards digital tools such as Power BI, Power App, ChatGPT is an asset
• Has the ability to analyze and define business problems, and to identify appropriate operational or process solutions
• Ability to adapt to change, and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Can be an advisor with sound judgement and the ability to manage conflicting priorities
• Is curious with a desire to dive into things and, if something seems off, figure out what’s going on
• Is courageous in embracing new ways of doing things, including automating functions, finding scalable solutions, and driving continuous improvement
• Is a strong problem-solver with attention to detail
• Possesses excellent communication skills in English and is comfortable connecting with people at all levels of the organization
• Ability to learn quickly, work under pressure and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
