Our client is hiring a Sr. Derivatives Accountant to support the leadership team within the execution of key initiatives. This person will perform accounting and reporting for derivatives, alternatives, and other complex assets to ensure accuracy to GAAP, management reporting and US insurance statutory basis.Primary responsibilitiesPerform General Ledger and other reconciliations and resolve discrepancies or issues.Perform SOX Testing and ensure SOC documentation is updated and timely and in compliance.Research and evaluate appropriate accounting treatment for new derivative instruments and limited partnership investments.Prepare and review transaction-level accounting for derivatives and limited partnership activity.Develop, prepare, and review analytical reports related to derivatives and other complex assets across multiple accounting bases, including U.S. GAAP, statutory, and tax reporting; apply hedge accounting where applicable.Prepare and review quarterly and annual disclosure support for inclusion in SEC Forms 10-Q and 10-K.Produce management reporting and supporting schedules, including hedge-related analyses and cost summaries.Oversee end-to-end accounting processes for derivatives and complex assets, ensuring activities are completed accurately, completely, and within established deadlines.Summary of QualificationsCPA preferred but not requiredBS in Accounting4+ years of relevant experience (Investment accounting, complex accounting research, SEC reporting exposure)Experience working publicly traded clientsPreferred Locations: GA, AL, or FL.Salary range and benefits: Salary range may be disclosed as required by local law.
