About the Opportunity

We are supporting several established accounting firm owners who are preparing for retirement and seeking a qualified successor to take over long-term leadership and ownership of their practice through an SBA-supported purchase.

This opportunity is designed for an experienced accounting professional who is ready to step into a true leadership role and ultimately acquire and operate a firm as an owner. Firms in our network range from $200k-$2M in annual revenue, many with flexible or fully remote operations, and owners committed to supporting a structured transition over multiple years.

About the Role

As the Successor Partner, you will work directly with the current firm owner to ensure continuity for clients, staff, and operations. You will assume full leadership responsibility and complete an ownership transition through an acquisition structure.

Key Responsibilities
• Engage in introductory discussions with firm owners planning an ownership transition
• Evaluate the firm’s client base, service lines, team structure, and operational readiness
• Step into leadership responsibility for client relationships and service delivery
• Manage and develop the internal team post-transition
• Partner closely with the current owner to support a smooth handoff and knowledge transfer
• Drive the firm forward as an owner-operator through operational excellence and growth initiatives

Candidate Qualifications
• CPA required for certain succession opportunities
• 7+ years of experience in public accounting
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and oversee a team
• Strong leadership presence and readiness to assume ownership responsibility
• Motivated and financially prepared to acquire and operate a firm long-term
• High professionalism, discretion, and a successor-ready mindset

Ownership Transition Structure

The selected candidate will pursue firm ownership through a structured acquisition process, with seller support during the transition period. Specific financial and timeline details will be shared during initial confidential conversations.

We will facilitate the introductions and provide full advisory support throughout the ownership transition and acquisition process for a fee.
