Job overview

We are seeking an organised, proactive CAMHS Pathway Manager (Band 5) to join our CAMHS service within the Babies, Children and Young Peoples Division (BCYP). The post holder will lead and support the CAMHS administrative team, ensuring high‑quality, efficient operational processes that enable the delivery of safe, responsive and patient‑centred care.

Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, you will oversee the coordination of patient pathways, maintain accurate clinical and demographic data on EPR, and help ensure the service meets national and Trust standards. You will also contribute to service improvement, staff development and the overall smooth running of CAMHS outpatient pathways.

This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and experience in NHS administrative or patient‑facing environments. You will play a key part in making sure young people and families experience seamless, compassionate and effective care.

Main duties of the job

Team Leadership & Staff Management

Manage and support the CAMHS admin team, providing supervision, appraisals, training and performance management.
Ensure adequate staffing, manage leave, and coordinate cover as required.
Support induction, competency development and adherence to Trust policies.

Pathway & Service Coordination

Oversee the smooth running of CAMHS outpatient pathways, ensuring administrative processes are efficient and consistently followed.
Work collaboratively with clinicians, addressing issues affecting patient flow or clinic quality.
Ensure accurate and timely recording of appointments, admissions, discharges and attendances on EPR.

Data Quality & Information Management

Monitor and maintain high standards of data entry to support clinical safety, reporting requirements, and Trust income processes.
Support data collection, audits, reporting and service performance monitoring.
Troubleshoot EPR issues with IT and ensure staff are well‑trained in its use.

Customer Care & Patient Experience

Provide compassionate, professional communication with patients, families and carers, including those who may be distressed or anxious.
Ensure high standards of reception and administrative support across CAMHS clinics.
Contribute to complaint investigations and service improvement actions.

Service Improvement & Governance

Contribute ideas and initiatives for improving systems and pathways.
Ensure compliance with Trust guidelines, confidentiality standards, safeguarding requirements, and infection control procedures.
Represent the Service Manager when required.
