Role: Junior Account Director (Pharma)
Reporting to: Group Account Director
Location: Remote / LA / USA
Role overview:
The Junior Account Director (Pharma) provides consistent support to a project-based account for a
pharmaceutical Business Unit that includes all social media disciplines – content (organic + paid),
insights, project management and social creative.
The work is agile and varied and you will be helping deliver social content that visually stands out and
pushes the boundaries in innovation and performance.
The Junior Account Director (Pharma) will work with a wider team including Account Director,
Account Managers and Copywriters from different Business Units to develop the account above and
beyond our current standing to new heights.
Required skills, experience and competencies
The ideal candidate…
● has 4+ years Digital / Social Account Management experience within Pharma or Healthcare
● has impeccable client facing communication skills
● confident public speaker and comfortable with communicating strategic-level initiatives with
clients at all levels from around the world
● works well internally and has experience working with teams across strategy, social, creative
and insights
● is proficient in communicating effectively in a variety of written and verbal formats with a
wide range of people; external individuals, organisations, other 3rd parties etc
● has experience with proposal writing and presentation of campaign ideas
● feels at ease working within a fast-paced team environment on various projects
simultaneously, working to tight deadlines and has proficient problem solving skills
● has a deep level of understanding of all social platforms, innovations and opportunities
● has strong IT skills – Word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email etc
● is knowledgeable about creative formats within Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Tik
Tok etc
● has an interest in and exposure to digital technologies
● will bring new ideas and concepts to a project to keep things fresh
Tasks will include:
● Ensure work is delivered to a high-standard, taking into account client strategies and
objectives
● Create, manage and strengthen relationships with clients
● Manage all workflows efficiently and delegate to other team members when applicable
● Mentor and oversee the development of more junior team members to help them maximise
their potential
● Work and support Group / Account Directors during meetings, calls, events etc, as required
● Remain up-to-date with developments, policies and competitor activity in the healthcare and
health tech sectors
● Play an active role supporting the wider team with ideas generation, proposal writing,
quotes
● Help devise and execute ideas to help raise the profile of Substance amongst key audiences
● Help oversee status of insights deliverables and paid campaigns
