Job Title: IT Migration & DevOps Support Contractor

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced IT Contractor to coordinate closely with the IT team and support the migration of data and applications from one platform to another, including cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role will focus on communication, execution support, validation, and confirmation that migrations are completed successfully. The ideal candidate will have a background in DevOps engineering, scripting capabilities, and hands-on experience with software testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as a primary coordination point between business stakeholders and the IT/engineering teams
• Communicate regularly with IT teams to track migration progress, risks, dependencies, and issues
• Support data and application migrations between platforms, on‑prem to cloud, or cloud environments (Azure and AWS)
• Validate and confirm that data migrations are complete, accurate, and meet defined success criteria
• Assist with scripting and automation to support migration, validation, monitoring, or testing activities
• Support cloud-based environments in Azure and AWS, including deployment, configuration validation, and post‑migration checks
• Perform functional testing, system testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate migrated systems
• Document migration outcomes, test results, issues, and resolutions
• Identify and escalate technical, security, or process risks related to migration activities
• Support troubleshooting and post‑migration stabilization activities as needed
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Background in DevOps engineering or a closely related IT/engineering role
• Experience supporting data or application migration projects, including cloud migrations
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and AWS services and environments
• Proficiency in scripting and automation, with experience in one or more of the following:
• PowerShell
• Python
• Bash
• JavaScript or similar scripting languages
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and deployment workflows
• Experience with software testing practices
• Hands-on experience performing User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams
• Ability to work independently while coordinating closely with IT and engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in enterprise or regulated IT environments
• Familiarity with DevOps and cloud tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub, Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation)
• Experience validating data integrity and reconciliation post‑migration
• Prior contractor or project-based delivery experience
