Part-Time Short-Form Video Editor / Social Ads Editor

Role Overview

Volaro Digital is looking for a fast, creative and commercially minded Short-Form Video Editor to support our growing content and paid ads team.

This role is focused on editing high-performing social content, including ads, reels, TikToks, talking-head videos, UGC-style content, promotional clips and short-form marketing assets.

We are not looking for a traditional narrative editor. We need someone who understands modern social media editing, fast-paced retention, strong hooks, engaging captions, platform-native pacing and content that is designed to stop people scrolling.

The ideal person is quick, reliable and confident using AI tools to speed up the editing process. We want someone who can use modern editing workflows to produce strong content efficiently, rather than spending unnecessary hours overcomplicating simple edits.

This is a part-time or freelance role to begin with, but there is strong potential for more regular work or a full-time position if the quality, speed and working relationship are right.

As our content output grows, we are looking for a sharp short-form editor who can help us produce engaging, high-volume video content for social media and paid ad campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

1. Edit Short-Form Social Content

Edit videos for Reels, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube Shorts and paid social ads.

This may include talking-head clips, UGC-style ads, founder-led content, testimonial videos, product/service promos, educational clips and quick promotional edits.

2. Create Fast, Engaging Edits

Turn raw footage into engaging short-form videos using strong pacing, clean cuts, captions, music, b-roll, graphics, visual emphasis and scroll-stopping hooks.

You should understand how to keep people watching in the first few seconds and how to make content feel native to social platforms.

3. Use AI Tools to Speed Up Workflow

Use AI editing tools where useful to speed up the process, including tools for captions, clipping, transcription, rough cuts, clean-up, resizing, repurposing and content formatting.

We are looking for someone who works smart and efficiently, using AI to handle the repetitive parts of the process while still applying strong creative judgement to the final edit.

4. Produce Content at Volume

Support the team with regular, high-volume video output.

We need someone who can work quickly, follow briefs clearly and deliver multiple edits or variations without needing excessive hand-holding.

5. Adapt Content for Different Platforms

Format and adapt videos for different social platforms, including vertical video formats, caption-safe areas, platform-specific pacing and different ad variations.

6. Take Feedback and Improve Quickly

Work from briefs, apply feedback quickly and improve edits based on what performs best.

You should be comfortable working in a marketing environment where speed, testing and iteration matter.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone with:

• Experience editing short-form social media content

• A strong understanding of Reels, TikTok, Shorts and paid social ad formats

• Good instinct for hooks, pacing, captions and visual retention

• Experience editing marketing content, ads, UGC-style videos or promotional content

• Ability to work quickly and produce content at volume

• Confidence using AI tools to speed up the editing process

• Good attention to detail

• Reliable communication and turnaround times

• Ability to take feedback without overcomplicating the process

• A portfolio or examples of short-form video edits

Useful Skills

These are helpful, but not essential:

• Experience editing paid social ads

• Experience with CapCut, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut or similar

• Experience using AI tools such as Descript, Opus Clip, Captions, Runway, Adobe AI tools or similar

• Basic motion graphics

• Basic colour correction and audio clean-up

• Experience creating multiple variations from one piece of footage

• Understanding of performance marketing or direct-response content

What This Role Is Not

This is not a narrative film editing role.

It is not focused on long-form documentaries, cinematic showreels or heavily polished brand films.

This role is about fast, engaging, commercially effective short-form content for social media and paid advertising.

We care about speed, clarity, retention and performance.

How the Role Will Work

This will start as a part-time or freelance role.

We will provide briefs, raw footage and examples of the style we want. You will be expected to turn these into short-form edits quickly and efficiently.

Typical projects may include:

• 15–30 second social ads

• Reels and TikTok edits

• Talking-head clips with captions

• UGC-style ad edits

• Multiple hook variations

• Repurposed clips from longer footage

• Simple promotional videos

• Video variations for testing

For the right person, this could become regular weekly work and potentially grow into a larger or full-time role.

Trial Task

As part of the application process, we may ask shortlisted applicants to complete a short paid trial edit.

This will help us assess your editing style, speed, understanding of social content and ability to follow a brief.
