About Tigerlily
Tigerlily First Aid Training delivers practical, in-person first aid training to nurseries, schools and childcare professionals across the UK.
We are now launching a focused suite of 15 high-quality CPD-accredited e-learning courses for nurseries, nannies and childminders — and we’re looking for an experienced Early Years Learning Designer to lead the project.
This is not a generic “content churn” role.
We are intentionally building a smaller library of courses done properly — accurate, engaging, practitioner-led content that early years professionals genuinely trust and value.
The Opportunity
This freelance role will take ownership of the editorial and quality side of the project from outline through to learner-ready delivery.
You’ll work alongside:
• two dedicated illustrators producing the visual content,
• Tigerlily’s in-house first aid trainers,
• and our Quality Director overseeing sign-off and accreditation.
You’ll focus on what matters most:
• creating excellent content,
• ensuring accuracy,
• structuring learning,
• and delivering a suite of courses that stands out from the generic e-learning currently on the market.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Designing and writing 15 CPD-accredited e-learning courses
• Creating learner assessments and knowledge checks
• Briefing illustrators with clear scripts and storyboards
• Producing downloadable templates and learner resources
• Preparing CPD accreditation submissions
• Ensuring all content aligns with:
• EYFS
• KCSIE
• Ofsted guidance
• NSPCC Learning
• Working Together to Safeguard Children
• RCPCH and HSE guidance
• Managing version control and annual review processes
• Working with first aid trainers on clinically related content areas
• Monitoring learner feedback and supporting continuous improvements
About You
We are looking for someone with genuine early years sector expertise — ideally someone who has worked directly within nursery, preschool or childcare settings.
You’ll likely have:
• 5+ years’ early years experience
• Leadership, DSL, room lead or deputy experience
• Level 3 qualification or above (Level 5/6 desirable)
• Strong safeguarding knowledge
• Excellent written English
• Experience creating training, educational or policy content
• Outstanding organisation and attention to detail
• Confidence working independently and managing deadlines
AI & Working Style
AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini are expected to form part of your workflow.
We are not looking for AI-generated content.
We are looking for someone who can use AI intelligently to:
• speed up research,
• support drafting,
• improve productivity,
• while applying the expert judgement and sector knowledge needed to produce high-quality, accurate learning content.
Why Join Tigerlily?
• Fully remote working
• Flexible freelance structure
• Full creative ownership of the content side
• Strong ongoing retainer potential
• Supportive and quality-focused team
• Interesting and meaningful project work
How We Start the Engagement
The project begins with one paid calibration course.
You’ll design and deliver one course from the launch suite, including a short sources-and-reasoning document explaining your editorial decisions and source references.
If both sides are happy, the project continues for the remaining courses.
