Description:
• Implement web updates and design features based on briefs from the Web Designer and Communications team.
• Build new WordPress modules for events, blog posts, publications, and partner engagement.
• Ensure the website is responsive, mobile-friendly, and optimised for performance.
• Manage plugins, perform regular maintenance, and apply critical security updates.
• Troubleshoot backend bugs and deliver efficient, well-documented fixes.
• Collaborate with Communications, Web Designer, and IT teams to test and deploy new features.
• Monitor performance benchmarks and recommend technical improvements.
• Ensure compliance with accessibility requirements, data privacy (e.g., GDPR), and web standards.
Requirements:
• Demonstrated experience in WordPress development and custom theme editing.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript.
• Understanding of hosting environments, DNS, and content delivery (CDN).
• Knowledge of responsive design, SEO, and basic web analytics.
• Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working independently, managing deadlines, and collaborating across time zones.
• Remote availability and ability to coordinate with international teams.
• Position is volunteer (unpaid); willing to contribute in a non-paid capacity.
