Role Description As a Mentor at Elite Skills, you will support students by offering tailored guidance on their finance career paths in a remote, contract-based capacity. You will conduct one-on-one mentoring sessions to review CVs, cover letters, and applications, and provide feedback on how to position experiences for top finance roles. You will help students design internship and recruiting strategies, practice interview and case questions, and refine technical and behavioral responses. You will also share insights on networking, industry expectations, and timelines, while maintaining professional, inclusive communication. The role involves tracking student progress, documenting session outcomes, and collaborating with the Elite Skills team to continuously improve mentoring resources and approaches.
Qualifications
• Experience in investment banking, private equity, asset management, consulting, or related finance roles, with a strong understanding of recruiting processes.
• Proven ability to coach or mentor students or early-career professionals, providing clear, actionable feedback on applications and interviews.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to explain complex finance concepts in a simple and structured way.
• Comfort with remote work, including managing virtual sessions, scheduling across time zones, and documenting progress in shared tools.
• High level of professionalism, empathy, and cultural awareness when working with diverse student backgrounds.
• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., CFA) are a plus.
• Knowledge of UK, French, and international finance recruiting markets is highly beneficial.
