Junior Java Developer

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in Java programming, strong problem-solving skills, and a desire to learn modern software development practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications and services.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following established coding standards.
• Collaborate with senior developers, business analysts, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and performance issues.
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs and web services.
• Assist in database design, development, and optimization.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen (required).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of professional experience in software development.
• Strong understanding of Core Java and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software development methodologies.
• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
• Understanding of REST APIs and web application development.
• Experience using Git or other version control systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Required Skills

• Experience with Spring Framework or Spring Boot.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end development concepts.
• Familiarity with Maven, Gradle, or other build tools.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Internship, academic projects, or personal projects demonstrating Java development skills.
• Understanding of Agile development practices.
