Sr. Supply Chain Financial & Planning Analyst

Title: Sr. Supply Chain Financial & Planning Analyst

Status: Permanent Role / Direct Hire

Location: Virtual (may sit anywhere in the US)

Salary: $95k – $110k with 9% bonus

Position Overview
• The Senior Supply Chain Financial, S&OP & Planning Analyst is a high-impact, hybrid role bridging the gap between data science, corporate finance, and physical telecom infrastructure operations. This individual acts as the technical and operational engine for our supply chain, ensuring that inventory ledgers accurately align with the realities of field deployments.
• This role is responsible for executing advanced contractor contract pricing models, performing engineering Bill of Materials (BOM) validations, leading data-driven Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes, and conducting rigorous pre-forecasting and post-performance reconciliations.
• This position requires an operational analyst who can develop robust financial models and write SQL queries, while remaining equally eager to travel to the field for warehouse inventory validation and partner with finance to ensure systemic data integrity.

Core Responsibilities

Strategic Forecasting, S&OP & Financial Modeling
• Predictive Material Forecasting: Analyze outside plant (OSP) deployment schedules, engineering design variations, and historical run-rates to predict future demand for fiber-optic materials, electronics, and hardware.
• Financial Data Modeling & Variance Analysis: Build, maintain, and update quantitative financial models to compare actual financial outcomes against budgets, identifying capital performance drivers and cost optimization risks.
• Unit-Cost Engineering: Gather, compute, and track precise micro-level telecom build metrics, including cost-per-foot to construct utilities and capital cost per customer location.
• Pre/Post-Performance Reconciliation: Deliver predictive financial modeling for future builds based on design specifications, followed by rigorous rear-looking audits to reconcile actual expenditures against initial project budgets.

Contractor Pricing, BOMs & Procurement Planning
• Contractor Bid Cost Analysis: Conduct comprehensive comparative cost analyses between multiple competing contractor proposals and design options.
• Contract Pricing Modeling: Build contract pricing models to forecast future expenditure variations and budgetary impacts based on the specific contractor selected for a market footprint.
• BOM Verification: Audit engineered Bills of Materials (BOMs) against verified on-hand inventory levels to identify net deficits and generate precise, data-backed future procurement requirements.

Inventory Control, Financial Auditing & Cross-Functional Alignment
• Onsite Warehouse Financial Audits: Travel up to 15% to regional warehouses and staging facilities to perform comprehensive physical inventory counts, verify material storage protocols, and execute asset valuation audits against system records.
• Cross-Functional Data Integrity: Monitor field transfers, staging, and job assignments. Partner proactively with corporate Finance to support the timely execution of system transactions (e.g., system receipts, assigning stock to specific active jobs) to maintain multi-system data alignment.
• Inventory Optimization: Maximize inventory accuracy, reduce carrying costs, and mitigate supply shortages to ensure construction teams have the necessary hardware without trapping excess capital in equipment.

Data Preparation & Cross-Functional Coordination
• Data Preparation: Extract, clean, and consolidate financial and material data from accounting software, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) databases, and CRM systems.
• Reporting & Dashboards: Design and maintain clean dashboards (e.g., in Tableau or Power BI) to present key performance indicators (KPIs), material run-rates, and inventory health metrics to stakeholders.
• Business Partnering: Partner across Field Operations, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, and Procurement to support strategic deployment initiatives and support standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Key Skills & Requirements

Education & Experience
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Data Analytics, or a highly quantitative related field.
• Experience: 7+ years of progressive experience blending corporate finance, logistics, inventory management, or supply chain analytics, preferably within telecommunications or a capital-intensive utility construction environment.
• Travel: Willingness and physical ability to travel up to 15% to regional storage facilities and build sites for onsite auditing.

Technical & Analytical Systems Skills
• Advanced Data Skills: High proficiency with Microsoft Excel (macros, advanced modeling, pivot tables) and strong database management skills preferably utilizing SQL.
• Data Visualization: Experience building and maintaining business intelligence tools like Power BI, Tableau, etc.
• Telecom & ERP Systems Knowledge: Deep understanding of telecommunications equipment, outside plant (OSP) deployment needs, and hands-on proficiency with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems like Dynamics, 365, SAP or Oracle.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication to translate complex supply chain datasets into digestible business stories, and a collaborative mindset necessary to maintain strong partnership lines across operational and financial units.

Required & Preferred Certifications
• Highly Preferred: APICS CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) or CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management).
• Highly Preferred: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
