Part-Time Marketing AssistantGreen Orbit / SmartFitIQ
Remote / South Wales preferred | Part-time | Equity-based initially
Green Orbit is looking for a part-time Marketing Assistant to help us build awareness, visibility and engagement around SmartFitIQ, our AI-assisted platform designed to improve uniform and PPE fit, reduce waste, support better procurement decisions, and create safer, more inclusive workplaces.
We are an early-stage Welsh business working at the intersection of AI, sustainability, workplace wellbeing, inclusive design, public-sector innovation and uniform/PPE procurement.
SmartFitIQ has been developed in partnership with the University of South Wales through CEMET, and we are currently strengthening the platform to include improved audit trail, reporting and operational features. Green Orbit is also supported by the Welsh Government through the Accelerated Growth Programme.
This is an opportunity for someone who wants to gain meaningful startup experience and contribute to a purpose-led business at an exciting stage of development.
About Green Orbit
Green Orbit was created to tackle a real and often overlooked problem: poor-fitting uniforms and PPE.
When clothing, workwear or protective equipment does not fit properly, the consequences can include:
• unnecessary waste
• increased costs
• poor employee experience
• safety and compliance concerns
• exclusion of people whose body shape, gender, role or needs are not properly supported
• repeat ordering, returns and inefficient procurement
SmartFitIQ is being developed to help organisations make better sizing, allocation and procurement decisions through smarter measurement, onboarding, reporting and audit capability.
Our focus is currently on sectors where fit, safety, cost and compliance matter, including public sector, emergency services, healthcare, local authorities, utilities and other uniformed workforces.
The role
We are looking for someone to support Green Orbit’s marketing activity on a flexible part-time basis.
This would suit a marketing student, graduate, early-career marketer, or someone looking to gain practical experience inside an early-stage AI and sustainability startup.
You do not need to be highly experienced, but you do need to be reliable, organised, curious and able to communicate clearly.
The role will involve helping us build a stronger online presence, identify relevant audiences, support LinkedIn activity, prepare simple marketing materials, and help communicate the Green Orbit / SmartFitIQ story in a clear and professional way.
Key responsibilities
You may be involved in:
• Supporting LinkedIn content planning and posting
• Helping create short posts, updates and awareness content
• Researching relevant sectors, organisations and decision-makers
• Supporting outreach campaigns
• Helping prepare simple case studies, one-page summaries and sector notes
• Tracking engagement and responses
• Researching themes around PPE fit, uniform waste, inclusion, sustainability and procurement
• Helping organise marketing assets and content ideas
• Supporting the founder and wider team with brand visibility
• Helping turn technical or operational updates into clear external messaging
• Identifying relevant articles, reports, events and sector conversations
• Supporting basic competitor and market research
• Helping maintain a consistent tone and message across communications
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone with:
• Strong written communication skills
• Good attention to detail
• An interest in marketing, sustainability, AI, innovation, public sector, fashion-tech, PPE, or inclusive design
• Confidence using LinkedIn and digital tools
• Ability to research and summarise information clearly
• A practical, self-starting attitude
• Reliability and good organisation
• Willingness to learn and take feedback
• An interest in helping build something from an early stage
A degree or studies in marketing, business, media, communications, digital marketing, fashion, sustainability, product marketing or a related subject would be helpful, but it is not essential.
We are more interested in attitude, judgement, reliability and potential than formal qualifications alone.
The person who will do well in this role
You are likely to be a good fit if you:
• enjoy writing and communicating ideas clearly
• are comfortable doing research
• like purpose-led businesses
• are interested in startups and innovation
• can work independently without needing constant supervision
• are happy to help with practical day-to-day marketing tasks
• understand that early-stage businesses require flexibility
• want to build real experience rather than just observe from the sidelines
This would not suit someone looking for a highly structured corporate marketing role. It would suit someone who wants to be closer to the development of a business and see how brand, product, sales and customer engagement connect in practice.
What you will gain
This is a chance to gain hands-on experience in:
• startup marketing
• B2B marketing
• LinkedIn content and engagement
• public-sector and enterprise positioning
• AI and sustainability messaging
• market research
• founder-led communications
• early-stage brand building
• product positioning
• customer and sector research
You will be working with a business that is actively developing its platform, building partnerships, and engaging with public-sector and industry stakeholders.
Important note on structure
This is a part-time role and would initially be equity-based, as Green Orbit is still at an early stage.
We are looking for someone who understands the nature of an early-stage startup and is interested in helping build long-term value.
Time commitment can be discussed, but we expect the role to be flexible and manageable around studies, other work or existing commitments.

Please send your CV and a short note explaining:
• Why Green Orbit / SmartFitIQ interests you
