Manufacturing Digital Transformation SME

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Digital Transformation Subject Matter Expert (SME) to drive business process improvement and digital transformation initiatives across manufacturing operations. This role will serve as a trusted advisor to business and operational leaders, helping bridge the gap between manufacturing processes and technology solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in manufacturing operations, supply chain, production planning, quality management, and Industry 4.0 technologies. This individual will work closely with stakeholders to identify operational challenges, define transformation roadmaps, and guide implementation of digital solutions that improve efficiency, productivity, and business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Business Consulting
• Partner with manufacturing, operations, supply chain, quality, and engineering teams to understand current-state processes and business objectives.
• Lead workshops, assessments, and discovery sessions to identify operational challenges and improvement opportunities.
• Analyze manufacturing workflows, production processes, and business operations to recommend process and technology enhancements.
• Evaluate existing systems, data flows, and operational practices to identify inefficiencies and optimization opportunities.
• Develop business cases, value realization plans, and transformation strategies.

Digital Transformation Leadership
• Support digital transformation initiatives from strategy and assessment through implementation and user adoption.
• Define future-state operating models aligned with smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0 principles.
• Help organizations modernize manufacturing processes through automation, data-driven decision-making, and advanced analytics.
• Provide recommendations on digital technologies that can improve manufacturing performance and operational efficiency.
• Support organizational change management and user adoption efforts.

Manufacturing Systems & Technology Advisory
• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams to ensure solutions meet operational requirements.
• Translate business needs into functional requirements and solution recommendations.
• Advise on manufacturing technology ecosystems, including:
• Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
• Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
• Supply Chain Systems
• Quality Management Systems
• Industrial IoT Platforms
• Manufacturing Analytics Platforms
• Asset Management Solutions
• Production Planning Systems
• Support solution design reviews and implementation planning activities.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
• Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, throughput, and cost performance.
• Support Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Operational Excellence initiatives.
• Recommend KPI frameworks, performance monitoring approaches, and operational dashboards.
• Assist in developing governance models and best practices for digital manufacturing initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement
• Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, plant leadership, and operational teams.
• Facilitate communication and alignment between business and technical stakeholders.
• Present recommendations, assessments, and transformation roadmaps to executive leadership.
• Build consensus across multiple functional groups and organizational levels.

Industry Leadership & Innovation
• Stay current on emerging manufacturing technologies, trends, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

Manufacturing Domain Expertise
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, process engineering, supply chain, industrial engineering, operational excellence, or manufacturing consulting.

• Ability to develop transformation roadmaps and business value assessments.
