Report to: Director of Marketing

Location: Office in Sebastopol with regular travel to Anderson Valley wineries plus off-site events as needed.

Salary Range: $70,000 – $80,000

The role of Marketing Associate focuses on bringing brand marketing strategy to life and helping propel the business through new channels and by targeting new audiences.

The role is highly creative, hands-on and focused on the execution and optimization of marketing initiatives that engage both trade and consumer audiences The role plays a key part in a wide range of marketing activities, including social media, trade support, and targeting communication to distributors and consumers who love our portfolio of wineries, and those who have yet to encounter them. The Marketing Associate brings a unique combination of skills – strong digital acumen rooted in current and forward-focused trends with a deep understanding of brand standards and social media marketing, as well as experience with trade initiatives ranging from merchandise to retail displays. This position leads the execution of digital campaigns, creating compelling photo and video content, managing day-to-day social channels, and leading paid media efforts.

The role requires regular on-site winery visits and local event attendance to capture real-time content and actively engage with our online communities. The primary goals are to support new customer acquisition, grow engagement and brand awareness, and contribute to ecommerce and wine club sales conversions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Social Media and Digital Marketing
• Develop and produce brand-generated content for social channels, including concepting, shooting, editing, and packaging assets that align with brand voice, visual standards, and evolving platform best practices
• Build, manage and optimize paid campaigns across Google Ads and Meta
• Proactively track digital performance metrics across all platforms, including audience engagement, reach, and conversion, and produce clear reports with actionable insights and recommendations
• Update and maintain websites with campaign landing pages, optimal SEO content, UX improvements and customer acquisition opportunities
• Lead content capture at wineries, brand events, activations, and other timely opportunities, ensuring high-value moments are translated into compelling, on-brand storytelling across channels
• Support brand campaigns by identifying influencer and PR opportunities to drive awareness, engagement, and conversion. Stay current on creator and platform trends, bringing forward recommendations to keep brand content culturally relevant
• Manage day-to-day execution of influencer and creator programs, including outreach, contracting, content coordination, approvals, and results tracking. Execute influencer partnerships from initial outreach through content delivery and payment processing
• Monitor social media trends, analyze performance metrics, and provide recommendations for optimization
• Leads community management, addressing any negative sentiments and providing best-in-class customer service in the virtual realm
• Develop and nurture relationships with external partners including influencers to secure partnerships and collaborations that align with the brand’s values, messaging and deliver measurable results

DTC Marketing
• Execute creative marketing initiatives to drive brand awareness, relevancy and sales – draft content, build campaigns, and track performance metrics to optimize engagement and audience growth
• Collaborate with DTC teams to create sales incentives, promotions and strategies for DTC channels
• Lead the coordination and execution of marketing initiatives, including project timelines, budgeting and cross functional communication.
• Collaborate with the events and PR teams to amplify brand initiatives through digital and social channels.
• Coordinate updating and printing of tasting room menus, club sign-up forms

Trade Marketing
• Manage the development and distribution of merchandising, display and educational materials for the national sales team. Includes sourcing materials, coordinating design, directing delivery, managing inventory and shipping items out to distributors.
• Coordinate promotion of in-market activities, such as winemaker dinners and event appearances
• Liaison with MMD trade marketing to ensure that trade visits meet brand standards and align with expectations
• Develop and design sales education tools using video editing software, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other programs as needed
• Assist with assembling and shipping mass mailings for trade

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in Marketing across a variety of channels
• BA or BS in marketing or communications, or related experience
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent project management skills
• Experience with social media marketing, content creation and influencer relations
• High level of proficiency with MS Office programs as well as WordPress, Klaviyo, Commerce7 and Later
• Willingness to work on holidays and weekends when applicable
