Part-time Designer | Help shape campaigns, publications and digital content that make a real difference | Remote (UK)

Intro

We are looking for a talented part-time Designer to join See Media at an exciting point in our growth. This is a chance to produce thoughtful, accessible and genuinely useful design work for organisations tackling some of the biggest issues in housing, communities and social impact.

About us

See Media is the number one PR and communications consultancy in the UK working with housing associations, charities, local authorities and their diverse suppliers.

We are a small, ambitious and growing team with a strong reputation in our sector. Our work matters because good communication helps organisations build trust, explain complex issues and reach the people who need to hear from them.

We combine senior experience with a practical, delivery-focused approach. We care about work that is clear, accessible and well made, and we enjoy working with people who take pride in turning good thinking into strong, useful outputs.

Our values shape how we work every day:

• We are practical and focused on outcomes

• We bring judgement, not just delivery

• We prioritise clarity and accessibility in everything we produce

• We work collaboratively and support each other to do good work

Our work spans campaigns, stakeholder engagement, social media, reporting and publications, and reputation advice. It is varied, fast-moving and often high-profile, which means the right designer can have a visible impact very quickly.

The role

You will help bring our ideas, campaigns and client advice to life. You will produce high-quality, accessible design work across a range of projects, from campaign materials and social content to reports, publications and stakeholder communications.

This includes:

• Campaign materials

• Social and digital content

• Reports and publications

• Stakeholder communications

You will work closely with Account Managers and Directors who value good design, clear thinking and practical creativity. We want someone who can listen carefully, ask good questions and help turn plans into outputs that feel polished, purposeful and easy to use.

You will work in a structured but flexible way, using Monday.com and Harvest to manage time and delivery effectively. We work remotely, but we stay connected, supportive and focused on doing good work together.

What you will be doing

• Designing campaigns and digital content

• Listening to and then presenting your ideas to clients

• Leading layout and design of reports and publications

• Producing accessible, well-structured outputs

• Supporting proposals with concept visuals and mock-ups

• Managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines

• Working with freelance designers to ensure consistency

• Developing templates and reusable design approaches

What we are looking for

We are looking for a designer who:

• Produces clear, well-structured, high-quality work

• Understands accessible design (WCAG and inclusive principles)

• Can work across both digital and print formats

• Is organised and able to manage multiple priorities

You should have:

• Strong experience using Adobe Creative Suite

• Experience with report design and campaign content

• Confidence working independently in a small team

Experience with Canva and Foleon is useful but not essential.

Why this role matters

This is not a role where design sits at the end of the process as decoration. Our clients need materials that help people understand decisions, engage with services, respond to campaigns and trust the organisations communicating with them.

• Clear, accessible publications

• Effective campaign materials

Your work will help us:

• Deliver consistently excellent work for clients

• Make complex information easier to understand and act on

• Support our growth by making our ideas tangible, credible and distinctive

Practical details

• Part-time role (ideally three days, but exact arrangement to be agreed)

• Remote working (UK-based)

• Occasional travel for team or client meetings

• Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

• Excellent written and spoken English is essential for this role

• Salary pro rata, depending on experience, but will be based on £34,600 FTE and 5% discretionary bonus

Who this role suits

This role would suit someone who wants to do meaningful design work in a friendly, expert and growing team. It is likely to appeal if you:

• Enjoy making things happen and seeing your work used in the real world

• Like working independently, but still want to feel part of a thoughtful and supportive team

• Take pride in producing clear, practical and high-quality work

• Want to help shape how a growing agency develops its design offer

Inclusive and accessible employer

We are committed to being an inclusive, fair and accessible employer.

We actively encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences, particularly those who are underrepresented in our sector. We value difference and believe it leads to better thinking, better work and better outcomes for our clients.

We use a blind recruitment process at the initial application stage. This means identifiable information such as names is removed before shortlisting, helping us focus on skills, experience and potential.

If you require any reasonable adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process, please let us know. We will always do our best to support you

Fair and transparent recruitment process

Our recruitment process is designed to be fair, proportionate and respectful of your time.

It typically includes:

• An initial application review (conducted using blind recruitment)

• A shortlist of candidates invited to interview

• One interview stage, with a short optional task where relevant

We aim to make decisions quickly and will keep you informed throughout.

How to apply

If this sounds like the right fit, we would love to hear from you. Apply via Indeed, LinkedIn or send your CV and a short portfolio of relevant work to [email protected]
