Open-Source Contributors WantedHelp Build BUCCONOMICS™
BUCCONOMICS™ is building open-source infrastructure for community finance.
Our mission is simple:
Finance should work for people, not against them.
We believe communities should be able to pool capital, fund local businesses, make financial decisions transparently, and keep more value circulating locally.
Today, too much capital leaves local communities. Small businesses struggle to access fair credit. Public and community funds are slow to deploy. Trust in finance is fragile.
BUCCONOMICS™ exists to help change that.
We are building technology that can support:
• Local capital pools
• SME and community funding
• Transparent governance
• Community dashboards
• Impact reporting
• Privacy-preserving identity
• Compliant financial infrastructure
Each local version of BUCCONOMICS™ is called a BUCC.
A BUCC helps a community organise capital, make decisions, and track the social and economic impact of where money goes.
We are now inviting a small group of mission-aligned contributors to help shape the foundations of the project before its next stage of funding and growth.
The Role
This is a remote, voluntary open-source contributor role.
We are looking for 3 additional contributors across:
• Frontend
• Backend
• Smart contracts
• DevOps / infrastructure
This is not a typical internship.
It is for people who are technically capable, self-directed, and interested in building open-source financial infrastructure with real social purpose.
You may contribute to areas such as:
• Frontend application flows
• Community dashboards
• Onboarding and wallet experience
• Governance interfaces
• Backend APIs
• Webhook integrations
• Smart contract testing
• Identity and verification tools
• Lending and treasury logic
• DevOps workflows
• GitHub Actions and CI/CD
• Technical documentation
• Open-source project hygiene
Day-to-day, this may include:
• Working on GitHub issues
• Opening pull requests
• Writing tests
• Improving documentation
• Joining code reviews
• Helping turn the BUCCONOMICS™ vision into reliable technical infrastructure
Future Opportunities
As BUCCONOMICS™ raises funding and moves into its next stage, we intend to look first at contributors who have already shown meaningful engagement with the project when considering early paid roles, contractor opportunities, or founding team pathways.
Contribution does not guarantee future employment… But it does give you the chance to help shape a mission-led financial infrastructure project before it becomes fully funded.
