About The Role
The role oversees daily healthcare operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while optimizing administrative workflows. It bridges the gap between clinical providers and backend technology systems to streamline patient care delivery and billing operations.
The administrator will lead initiatives to improve electronic health record (EHR) utilization, manage payer relationships, and implement operational policies that reduce administrative friction. This position requires a deep understanding of US healthcare compliance, including HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid billing guidelines, and state-specific healthcare statutes.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage daily healthcare administrative operations, overseeing patient scheduling systems, credentialing pipelines, and medical billing workflows.
• Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and joint commission standards by conducting quarterly audits of internal procedures and records.
• Optimize EHR systems (such as Epic, Athenahealth, or Elation) to improve clinical documentation speed, data accuracy, and reporting metrics.
• Collaborate with insurance payers to resolve complex claims, manage prior authorization processes, and reduce overall claim denial rates.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) that reduce patient check-in bottlenecks and improve provider utilization rates.
• Analyze operational data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to present actionable cost-reduction and process-improvement reports to leadership.
What We Are Looking For
• 4+ years of experience in healthcare administration, medical practice management, or healthcare operations.
• In-depth knowledge of US healthcare regulations, HIPAA compliance requirements, and medical coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
• Proven experience managing or optimizing at least one major EHR system (Epic, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar).
• Strong proficiency in data analysis using Microsoft Excel, Tableau, or similar business intelligence tools to track operational KPIs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or a closely related field.
• Bonus: Master of Health Administration (MHA), MBA in Healthcare, or professional certifications such as CMPE (Certified Medical Practice Executive) or CPC (Certified Professional Coder).
