Financial Coordinator 1 – College of Education

University of Houston System is hiring a Financial Coordinator 1 for the College of Education. The role involves coordinating financial operations within a college unit, including maintaining accounts, processing payments and reimbursements, preparing financial reports, overseeing clerical staff, and supporting budget cycles.

Highlights
• Maintains and reconciles financial accounts, monitors revenues and expenditures.
• Coordinates cash handling functions such as petty cash, gift transmittals, and travel reimbursements.
• Prepares and processes vouchers, purchase requests (using Jaggaer and procurement cards), travel documents via Concur Travel Management, and contracts.
• Assists with mail deliveries to faculty and staff.
• Conducts monthly reconciliations for department cost centers.
• Oversees and trains staff and student workers on financial document preparation as per university policies.
• May manage payroll functions and property inventory for the unit.
• Serves as liaison to the Office of Grants and Contracts on financial issues.
• Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong communication skills.
• Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least three years of relevant experience; education can substitute for experience.
