The Director, Global Digital Health Clinical Programs leads the development of clinical programs that drive the adoption and scale of Nihon Kohden’s digital health and clinical software solutions. This is a clinical solutions and clinical strategy role that combines clinical program design, commercial enablement, and business development across acute and non-acute care settings.
The role works in close partnership with Nihon Kohden’s regional subsidiaries, beginning with Nihon Kohden America (NKA). It is responsible for designing new, evidence-based clinical programs in areas such as virtual and remote monitoring, alarm management, and centralized and hybrid care, then equipping subsidiary clinical and commercial teams to adopt, deliver, and scale them with their customers. The mandate is global. Execution begins with US health systems through NKA to establish proof points, then extends to additional regions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAIN DUTIES
Clinical Program Development and Subsidiary Partnership
• Lead the design and development of new, evidence-based clinical programs for digital health and clinical software solutions, including virtual and remote monitoring, alarm management, and centralized and hybrid care models.
• Define the clinical discovery methodology and program frameworks that translate a customer’s workflow, clinical scores and KPIs, escalation pathways, staffing models, and operational constraints into a recommended solution configuration across DHP, RemoteSense, AlarmSense, predictive analytics, and connectivity.
• Partner with NKA and regional subsidiary clinical teams, who own the customer relationship and lead delivery in their markets, applying these programs and methodologies together in customer engagements. The role develops the clinical program portfolio centrally and works alongside subsidiary teams to bring it to their customers.
• Establish the measurable program outcomes that define success with the customer, such as alarm reduction, documentation efficiency, response time, length of stay, and staffing optimization.
• Equip subsidiary clinical and commercial teams with the playbooks, program templates, training, and enablement they need to adopt, deliver, and scale these programs independently.
• Establish US proof points in partnership with NKA, then adapt and transfer the program model to additional regions and distributor channels.
• Serve as a clinical authority on strategic pursuits and executive engagements in support of subsidiary commercial teams.
Commercial and Business Development Partnerships
• Support subsidiary clinical and commercial and sales teams on high-value accounts with clinical use cases, ROI models, and outcome-based value narratives for clinical and executive stakeholders.
• Develop and manage business development partnerships with external companies whose solutions integrate with Nihon Kohden’s, enabling combined offerings that serve shared customers with integrated clinical solutions.
• Identify and evaluate partner technologies that strengthen the clinical program portfolio, and define joint go-to-market and clinical value propositions.
• Support pilots, reference programs, and strategic account development in coordination with subsidiary teams.
Product and Innovation Collaboration
• Aggregate clinical feedback gathered through subsidiary channels, which hold the closest relationships with regional markets and customers, and translate it into structured input for engineering and algorithm teams.
• Provide clinical guidance on product design, usability, and workflow integration across acute and non-acute settings.
• Inform next-generation solutions including remote monitoring, tele-ICU, centralized telemetry, virtual nursing, predictive analytics, and others.
Clinical Evidence and External Engagement
• Build relationships with key opinion leaders, health systems, and academic partners, and convert those relationships into study sites and pilot sites for Nihon Kohden digital health products and partner solutions.
• Generate the clinical evidence and validated outcomes that demonstrate program and product efficacy, and develop reference sites that subsidiary teams can use to accelerate adoption in their markets.
• Represent Nihon Kohden at conferences and industry forums as a clinical thought leader in digital health.
Standards and Compliance
• Ensure programs and positioning align with global regulatory and quality standards, including FDA, MDR, and GDPR, in partnership with regulatory and quality teams.
