Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable A-Level: AQA Business & Accounting Tutor to support students in achieving their academic goals. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and effective tutoring sessions, fostering a positive learning environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your expertise in business and accounting, while helping students develop their understanding and confidence in these subjects. The tutor will work flexibly, either remotely or in person, to accommodate students’ needs.
Responsibilities
• Deliver personalised tutoring sessions focused on AQA Business & Accounting syllabus requirements
• Prepare customised lesson plans and learning materials tailored to individual student needs
• Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support improvement
• Create an engaging learning environment that encourages active participation and critical thinking
• Support students in developing exam techniques and effective revision strategies
• Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, attendance, and progress reports
• Communicate effectively with students and, where appropriate, with parents or guardians regarding academic development
• Stay informed about updates to the AQA curriculum and examination criteria to ensure current teaching practices
Requirements
• Proven experience in tutoring or teaching A-Level Business & Accounting or related subjects
• Strong understanding of the AQA syllabus and examination standards
• Experience working with children or young adults, ideally within an educational setting
• Knowledge of special education needs (SEN) is advantageous but not essential
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and patiently
• Organised with the ability to plan lessons effectively and track student progress
• Passionate about education and committed to supporting student success
• Flexibility to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles and needs
Pay: £30.00-£60.00 per hour
