Standard 8 is supporting an international charity in the search for a Chief Finance & Operations Officer.

This is a key executive leadership role where you will oversee both finance and operations across a global organisation delivering large-scale programmes, events and initiatives.

This is far more than a traditional CFO position. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the organisation operates effectively across multiple countries, with strong financial governance, operational excellence and compliance at the heart of everything you do.
The Role
• Lead financial governance across multiple international entities
• Own budgeting, financial planning and funding allocation across global programmes
• Ensure donor funding, grants and sponsorship income are managed effectively and aligned with programme delivery
• Oversee global operations where finance, administration and programme delivery come together
• Manage cash flow, payments and financial controls across multiple jurisdictions
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks including AML, GDPR and international financial regulations
• Drive improvements across finance, reporting, systems and operational processes to support continued growth
Essential Experience
• Previous experience as a CFO, Finance Director or equivalent executive finance leader
• Proven experience working within a charity, NGO or international non-profit organisation is essential
• Strong understanding of donor funding, grants, restricted funding and programme-based financial management
• Experience leading finance across multiple international entities and jurisdictions
• Strong knowledge of charity governance, compliance and regulatory requirements
• Experience operating within complex, evolving organisations where you have built structure and improved ways of working
• Ability to work closely with Boards, Trustees, Executive Teams and external stakeholders
• A pragmatic leader who can balance strong financial controls with the realities of a mission-led organisation
Desirable
• Experience supporting global programmes, humanitarian, education or international development organisations
• Exposure to fundraising, philanthropy, sponsorship or institutional funding
• Experience improving finance and operational systems during periods of organisational growth
• Background working across international events, media or other globally distributed organisations
