JRS/USA seeks a full-time temporary Web and Marketing Consultant to manage the organization’s digital communications and web presence during a staff transition.
Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, Communications, and Outreach, the consultant will maintain and enhance JRS/USA’s website, support integrated digital marketing and communications campaigns, analyze performance across digital channels, and help grow engagement among donors, advocates, partners, and the broader public through channels including but not limited to email and social media.
The consultant will work with other members of the Marketing, Communications, and Outreach team as well as collaboratively across departments—including Development/Fundraising, Advocacy, Operations, and Programs—ensuring timely and relevant publication of content, coordinated execution, and consistent messaging. The position requires strong experience with WordPress, HTML, SEO, Salesforce, Pardot, analytics, email marketing, and social media management, both organic and paid.
Responsibilities
Website & Digital Management (Approximately 40%)
• Manage the day-to-day maintenance, administration, and optimization of the JRS/USA website using WordPress.
• Build, edit, and publish web pages, stories, landing pages, campaign pages, and resource hubs supporting fundraising, advocacy, organizational news, and international programs.
• Update website content, navigation, and page layouts as needed, including editing HTML and CSS where appropriate.
• Troubleshoot website issues and coordinate with hosting or technical vendors as needed.
• Ensure website content is accurate, accessible, mobile responsive, and aligned with organizational branding.
• Monitor website functionality and recommend improvements to user experience and site performance.
• Support implementation of website strategies that increase audience engagement and digital growth.
• Provide technical support and guidance to internal staff on website-related needs.
Digital Marketing, SEO & Analytics (Approximately 25%)
• Monitor website, campaign, and audience performance using Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, and other reporting platforms.
• Prepare regular reports analyzing website traffic, audience engagement, conversions, and campaign performance.
• Maintain organization-wide campaign tracking through consistent use of UTM parameters and other digital measurement tools.
• Optimize website content using SEO best practices, including keyword research, metadata, internal linking, and content structure.
• Support ongoing management and optimization of the Google Ad Grant and Google Ads campaigns.
• Monitor search performance and recommend improvements that increase visibility and audience engagement.
• Track media coverage, referral traffic, and digital campaign performance.
Grow Digital Audience:
• Optimize website content using SEO & AEO best practices, including metadata, keyword optimization, internal linking, content structure, and ongoing maintenance to improve organic search visibility.
• Maintain paid social media campaigns designed to draw website visits and expand our audiences for newsletters and social followership and engagement.
Digital Communications & Campaign Support (Approximately 20%)
• Support implementation of JRS/USA’s integrated communications strategy across digital channels.
• Collaborate with Development, Advocacy, Outreach, and International Programs to develop and publish timely digital communications supporting organizational priorities.
• Produce and publish website stories, advocacy content, fundraising campaigns, newsletters, videos, digital publications, and other communications materials.
• Assist in building and editing email communications and campaign assets using Salesforce Account Engagement (Pardot) and related platforms.
• Develop digital content that drives audience engagement, advocacy actions, event participation, and fundraising goals.
Social Media Management (Approximately 15%)
• Manage JRS/USA’s day-to-day social media presence across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and other platforms as assigned.
• Create, schedule, publish, and optimize social media content supporting advocacy campaigns, fundraising initiatives, events, organizational news, and international program updates.
• Develop platform-specific messaging and creative recommendations that align with organizational priorities and audience interests.
• Monitor social media performance and provide recommendations based on analytics and engagement trends.
• Support paid social advertising campaigns by coordinating creative assets, audience targeting, campaign implementation, and performance reporting.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in PR, Communications, Marketing, or related area of study.
• 4+ years of experience working in communications, digital marketing, or web strategy or development.
• Excellent writing/editing and overall communication skills.
• Proven history of working collaboratively with varied constituent groups.
• Working knowledge of HTML and basic CSS.
• Experience with WordPress (or other website backends) and tools to enhance digital presence including SEO/SEM.
• Experience with Google Analytics, Social Media Analytics, or other social listening tools.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
• Experience with digital advertising and front-end development languages
• Experience with Salesforce Account Engagement (Pardot) or similar marketing platforms
• Experience using Google Ads or Google Ad Grant programs preferred
• Audio and Video Editing skills preferred.
