Job Summary
The Manager of Financial Crimes Fraud leads and supports the investigations program by identifying, validating, and disrupting fraud patterns across the Bank. This role provides leadership for investigative operations and quality control reviews, ensures adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies, and drives continuous improvement of fraud detection, investigation, and reporting processes.
Responsibilities
• Manage the Bank’s fraud investigations of suspected fraudulent activity, ensuring adherence to established investigative procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Execute risk-based quality-control programs tailored to transaction monitoring, identity verification, and escalation procedures.
• Develop and maintain ongoing updates to applicable programs, policies, procedures, and controls within scope of authority.
• Collaborate with internal partners across business functions to ensure investigations are conducted consistently and meet compliance standards.
• Coach and develop a high-performing team responsible for defining and executing the strategic vision, strategy, and governing policies of the Division.
• Execute the timely reconciliation of complex bank records, internal ledgers, and suspense accounts, ensuring strict alignment with corporate reconciliation policies and department procedures.
• Conduct research into complex financial discrepancies, unidentified entries, and fraud/loss cases; analyze root causes, typologies, and fund movements to provide actionable feedback for strategic risk directives and process improvements.
• Establish and track metrics and key risk indicators, communicating findings to senior leadership.
• Lead fraud risk and system coverage assessments to develop robust prevention strategies, internal controls, and compliant policies that leverage trend analysis to address detection gaps and industry standards.
• Supervise two or more associates. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
• Understand and comply with bank policies, laws, regulations, and the bank’s BSA/AML Program, as applicable to job duties. This includes, but is not limited to, completing compliance training, adhering to internal procedures and controls, reporting any known violations of compliance policies, laws, or regulations, and reporting any suspicious customer and/or account activity.
• Other duties and special projects may be assigned.
Experience
• Required: 6 years of relevant experience including 3 years of progressive experience in a management or supervisory capacity.
• Preferred: Previous banking or financial services experience.
• Preferred: Proven knowledge of financial transactions and business relationships.
• Preferred: Ability to exercise sound and independent judgement and maintain confidentiality standards.
• Preferred: Demonstrated ability to influence, collaborate, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding highly sensitive matters.
• Relevant work experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree requirement.
• Relevant military experience is considered for veterans and transitioning service members.
Credentials
• Preferred: Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), or Certified Anti Money Laundering and Fraud Professional (CAFP), or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS).
