We are seeking an experienced Remote Architect to join our growing design team on an hourly contract basis. This role focuses on commercial renovations, tenant improvements, adaptive reuse, and ground-up building design. You’ll work closely with our integrated architectural and engineering team to deliver high-quality permit and construction documents for projects throughout the United States.
This position is 100% remote with flexible hours. Candidates must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and proficient in Revit with experience coordinating multidisciplinary projects.
Responsibilities
* Develop architectural designs from concept through construction documents.
* Produce permit-ready drawing sets using Autodesk Revit.
* Design commercial renovations, tenant improvements, additions, and new construction projects.
* Coordinate with structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers.
* Research and apply building codes, zoning requirements, ADA, and life safety codes.
* Respond to plan review comments from Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
* Coordinate with clients, consultants, and project managers remotely.
* Review submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings during construction.
* Perform quality control reviews to ensure drawing accuracy and completeness.
* Support value engineering and constructability reviews.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture.
* Licensed Architect preferred; experienced architectural designers will also be considered.
* Minimum 5 years of commercial architectural experience.
* Expert proficiency in Autodesk Revit (required).
* Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
* Strong understanding of IBC, ADA, NFPA, and commercial building codes.
* Experience with restaurants, retail, office, healthcare, hospitality, industrial, and multifamily projects.
* Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
* Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
