[Remote] Sr. Data Analyst, Finance (REMOTE)

Signet Jewelers is the world’s largest retailer of diamond jewelry, and they are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities for Signet Diamond Sourcing. This role will focus on inventory accounting, cost of goods sold, and overall financial performance, providing critical insights to optimize inventory management and operational efficiency.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze and report on key financial metrics, including inventory balances, inventory reserves, gross margin, and cost of goods sold (COGS), identifying trends, risks, and opportunitiesPrepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc financial reports to support management decision-makingAssist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses related to inventory and COGSSupport forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, providing meaningful insights into operational and financial performanceDevelop and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPIs to enhance visibility into financial and operational resultsAssist in maintaining the accuracy of physical inventory by collaborating with operations teams to identify and resolve discrepanciesSupport the analysis of inventory transactions, including inventory roll-forwards, cost variances, and obsolescence reservesPartner with supply chain and operations teams to ensure accurate COGS reporting and inventory valuationProvide insights related to inventory turnover, shrinkage, and operational inefficiencies, recommending actions to improve performanceAssist in managing pricing and costing data infrastructure, including maintaining pricing grids, ensuring accurate updates across systems, and integrating data sources to support the Sourcing Costing teamDevelop advanced SQL queries and data pipelines to consolidate datasets from multiple systems, enabling scalable analysis, consistent reporting, and reliable decision supportDeliver data-driven insights and reporting by building analytical models, improving automation and standardization, and ensuring leadership has accurate, timely operational and financial dataIdentify and implement opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance data accuracySupport the Senior Manager in designing workflows and tools to improve inventory management and financial reportingCollaborate with cross-functional teams to establish best practices and ensure alignment with corporate objectivesServe as a trusted business partner to departments such as supply chain, operations, and accounting, providing financial insights and recommendationsCollaborate with internal and external auditors by preparing required documentation for audits and ensuring compliance with SOX controlsWork closely with IT and ERP teams to optimize systems for financial and inventory reportingSkillsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or EconomicsMinimum of 3-5 years of financial analysis and accounting experience, preferably in inventory, COGS, or related fieldStrong working knowledge of US GAAP, with a focus on inventory and COGS accountingAdvanced analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, develop insights, and recommend actionsStrong proficiency in ExcelStrong experience with visualization/data tools like Tableau, Alteryx and/or Power BIExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings to senior stakeholdersMeticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysisAbility to build strong relationships across departments and work collaboratively to achieve shared goalsComfort working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with changing prioritiesCPA or CMA certification is a plusExperience in retail, wholesale, or e-commerce environments is highly desirableHands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and financial reporting toolsBenefitsComprehensive healthcare, dental, and vision insurance to keep you and your family covered that is active on day 1 of employmentGenerous 401(k) matching after just one year to help secure your financial futureAmple paid time off, plus seven holidays to recharge and unwindExclusive discounts on premium merchandise just for youDynamic Learning & Development programs to support your growthAnd more!Company OverviewSignet Jewelers engages in the retail sale of jewelry and watches in the United States, the United Kingdom.
