Role Description The Fractional CFO | Fashion & Apparel will serve as a strategic finance partner to multiple fashion and apparel clients on a contract basis in a remote capacity. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing financial planning and analysis, developing budgets and forecasts, and managing cash flow to support seasonal cycles and inventory needs. The role will involve building and refining financial models, reviewing management reports, and providing data-driven recommendations on pricing, margin optimization, and capital allocation. The Fractional CFO will collaborate with founders and leadership teams on growth strategies, fundraising readiness, and transaction support, while ensuring strong financial controls and reporting practices tailored to the fashion and apparel industry. This role requires proactive communication, the ability to manage several client engagements concurrently, and a consultative approach to guiding clients through key financial decisions.

Qualifications
• Strong financial leadership skills, including budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis, and cash flow management.
• Experience with financial modeling, scenario analysis, and KPI development relevant to fashion and apparel (e.g., inventory turnover, gross margin, sell-through).
• Background in accounting and financial reporting, with the ability to interpret and present financial statements to non-finance stakeholders.
• Transaction support experience, such as valuations, due diligence, and preparation of materials for investors, lenders, or acquirers.
• Strategic consulting capabilities, including growth planning, operational efficiency improvements, and performance measurement.
• Industry experience in fashion, apparel, or consumer brands, with an understanding of merchandising, production cycles, and retail/wholesale dynamics.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote, client-facing, contract environment and manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA, MBA) preferred.
• Comfort with modern financial and accounting software, dashboards, and collaborative tools used in virtual consulting environments.
